Posted October 22, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online)—The Minister of Finance, Dr.Abdirahman Beileh, successfully concluded his visit to the UK where he delivered lectures at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, and the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University. Both lectures were focused on the progress of Somalia’s fiscal and economic reforms under the third IMF Staff Monitored Program. During the visit, the Minister met with Harriett Baldwin, the Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State at the Department for International Development, and Matthew Rycroft CBE, the Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Development. In these meetings, the Minister discussed Somalia’s fiscal and economic reforms under the IMF Staff Monitored Program and thanked the UK government for the positive role it continues to play in Somalia’s development. Somalia’s Minister of Finance Beileh’s visit to Oxford University, the Minister also held discussions on Somalia’s fiscal and economic reforms with Professor Paul Collier and Professor Stefan Dercon of the Blavatnik School of Government.
