Posted October 20, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) says its forces have arrested a suspected Al-Shabaab’s intelligence agent in an operation in the capital of Mogadishu. The operation was carried out on Saturday at the main road linking Mogadishu to southwestern town of Afgoye, about 40 kilometers away from Somali capital. Somali Intelligence’s Twitter feed said its security forces captured a man whom it says was an Al-Shabaab’s elite force member tasked with intelligence gathering. But some of those attacks were claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group in Somalia. The group also carried out similar suicide bomb attacks at key areas in the capital of Mogadishu, leaving dozens, including children dead. The Al-Qaeda linked Shabaab was pushed out of the Somali capital in 2011 — and subsequently other towns and cities — by soldiers from the African Union Mission in Somalia.
