Somalia: Al-Shabaab bomb expert arrested in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online)–Somalia’s l Intelligence says its security forces arrested an Al-Shabaab bomb expert, following security operation in the capital of Mogadishu.

The spy agency said in a Twitter feed, the operation was carried out at Ex-control area in the capital where the suspected bomb expert had been detained.

“We carried out an operation in which our security forces arrested senior Al Shabaab operative, who was in charge of bomb explosives”, the agency said.

There was no immediate comment from Al Shabaab over the claims.

Somali security forces arrested several group’s Amniyat operatives in the capital for the past weeks.

Amniyat are al-Shabab’s elite forces tasked with intelligence gathering, assassinations and explosions.
