Saudi Intel chief pays secretive visit to Somaliland

MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) — Saudi Arabia’s deputy intelligence chief arrived in Hargeisa town, after departing from Djibouti on a commercial flight.

Major Gen. Ahmad Hassan Mohammad has met with President of self-declared state of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, discussing on wide range of issues, including the on-going military base building by United Arab Emirates in Berbera.

The Major Gen, Mohammad reportedly conveyed a message from Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman to President Bihi, a source said.

President Muse Bihi Abdi is set to be heading to Jeddah to meet Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman.

Major Gen, Mohammad’s visit to Somaliland is said to be a very interested in a military base in Berbera along side its ally, the United Arab Emirates.

The highly secretive meeting between President Muse Bihi Abdi and General Ahmad Hassan Mohammad Asiri is another sign of newly energized diplomatic overtures by the Kingdom to Somaliland.
