Deeq A. Posted September 23, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Two people have been killed and six others, including three police officers injured in multiple attacks in Somali capital Mogadishu. The attacks happened at the same area in the city’s biggest Bakara market after bomb explosives fitted into wheelbarrow exploded. The blast killed a person and injured two other people, a witness, who aske to be anonymous said. He says the wheelbarrow had been left unattended at Bakara crossroad, where is a parking lot for public transport vehicles. Bakara junction where is also busy with traders and breadwiners, who sell their daily wares. He said an hour before the bomb attack, unknown gunmen shot and killed a bus conductor at busy junction in the capital. The killers reportedly fled from the crime scene before the arrival of Somali security forces. Meanwhile, four other people, including three soldiers injured after grenade bomb was hurled into police checkpoint in the same area, a witness, tea-seller, Faisa Mohamed said. Mohamed says police soldiers opened gunfire to response to the bomb attack, causing untold number of casualties. “We all got scared over the bang of explosion and gun attacks, but we later knew police soldiers are attacked with grenade bomb”, she said. The Islamic State (IS) has claimed to have been responsible for the latest attacks in Somali capital Mogadishu. Somali capital has been hit by wave of killings and bombings which are often carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab. The group also claimed the responsibility for Friday’s double bomb explosions, killing two people in Somali capital Mogadishu.
