MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online)– Four people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in last week’s assassinations after police carried out an operation in Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somali police chief, Bashir Abdi Mohamed, says the police soldiers had been rumpping up latest efforts to secure the overall security in the capital of Mogadishu, following wave of killings.

Mohamed says the soldiers had arrested four people in connection with killing against Amina Hussein Hassan, 43, a mother of two children, who was shot dead inside her classroom at Somali University in Mogadishu.

He added that Somali police has been hunting down others men, who were suspected to be involved in the assassinations.

“We are hunting down number of suspects, who were involved in latest killings in Mogadishu. We will bring them into justice”, he said.

Last week, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group (ISIL) also known as Islamic State (IS) in Somalia has claimed the responsibility for the killing of government soldiers in the capital of Mogadishu.

In a statement by Amaq, an ISIL mouthpiece, said that the group’s fighters shot and killed two soldiers in the capital and nearby town of Afgoye, about 30km south of Somali capital.

Somali capital Mogadishu has witnessed numerous targeted assassinations against security force members, civil servants and elders carried out by unknown gunmen.

But some of those attacks were claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group in Somalia.

The group also carried out earlier this month similar suicide bomb attacks at local government offices in the capital, leaving dozens, including children dead.
