Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted June 2, 2007 This is the original translation that accompanied the list. Ciyaal = children Ciyaalka = the children Ciyaalkeena = our children Ciyaalkaanaa = man, these children! Ciyaaloow = oh, children Ciyaalkeenoow = oh, our children Ciyaalkaasba = those children, too Ciyaalkaanba = these children, too Ciyaalkeena = our children Ciyaalkooda = their children Ciyaalkee = which children? Ciyaalkiisa = his children Ciyaalkeeda = her children Ciyaalkaaga = your children Ciyaalkeyga = my children Ciyaalkaas = those children Ciyaalkaan = these children Ciyaalbaas = unruly children Ciyaalkoow = children, children! [i missed this one from the list, soori.] Ciyaalkeenoow II = he who brought those/these children in [Many of you did not get this one; however, the word may consist two words of 'ciyaal keenoow,' which might have made more sense. This where you got the confusion from.] So it seems our sister Buuxo got the closest. Buuxo, yes your licence boostadda uu kusoo jiraa. Aaliya, Puuja and Kreepy, your Afsoomaali is not that bad, so rejoice. Anyone got any simple Soomaali test?

Ciyaal = children/kids, as an example Ciyaalka = The kids Ciyaalkeena = Our Kids Ciyaalkaanaa = These kids 'will or have' ie ciyaalkanaa ku raaci or ciyaalkanaa wax sameeyey Ciyaaloow = Hey kids Ciyaalkeenoow = Hey our kids Ciyaalkaasba = NEVER HEARD THIS BEFORE (you mean 'ciyaalkasta'?) Ciyaalkaanba = These kids (similar yet different to when 'ciyaalkanaa' is used) Ciyaalkooda = Their kids Ciyaalkee = Which kids? Ciyaalkiisa = His kids Ciyaalkeeda = Her kids Ciyaalkaaga = Your kids Ciyaalkeyga = My kids Ciyaalkaas = Those kids Ciyaalkaan = These kids (ciyaalkan) Ciyaalbaas = Damned kids Ciyaalkeenoow II = Hey our kids Edit Just realised MMA gave the answers already

Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted June 4, 2007 what about ciyaalsuq Ciyaal suuq is a two-words word, so it cannot be on the list. When it is one word, as a noun, it can be ciyaalsuuq, but that is usually given as a nickname, a place name or a group name, which is not what we have in the list.
