Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted June 1, 2007 How good is your Afsoomaali? Do you think it is moderately good? This is a simple test, with anyone whose Afsoomaali is questionable in the middle and above average can pass off in a minute. The test has a simple almost twenty close words consisting and based one base word taken as an example, which differ in meanings, some slightly. You should translate them, as best as you can. PS - They are not anagram, acronym or attached two words, i.e. ciyaal faaycali or ciyaal maama or ciyaal la'aan or ciyaal xun. Those following are one-word words that can be made in any other noun Soomaali word. Ciyaal = children/kids, as an example Ciyaalka = ? Ciyaalkeena = ? Ciyaalkaanaa = ? Ciyaaloow = ? Ciyaalkeenoow = ? Ciyaalkaasba = ? Ciyaalkaanba = ? Ciyaalkeena = ? Ciyaalkooda = ? Ciyaalkee = ? Ciyaalkiisa = ? Ciyaalkeeda = ? Ciyaalkaaga = ? Ciyaalkeyga = ? Ciyaalkaas = ? Ciyaalkaan = ? Ciyaalbaas = ? Ciyaalkeenoow II = ?

Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted June 1, 2007 Puuja, even though you did the most, but ku noqo once again, especially the the ones that have bolded letters, ciyaalkaanba and ciyaalkaasba. They are different from ciyaalkaan and ciyaalkaas. That is why I bolded the last two letters for a reason.

-Lily- Posted June 1, 2007 Originally posted by Puuja: ciyaalkaanba = even these kids ciyaalkaasba = even those kids I don't think this is wrong because you can say 'even these' and 'these kidds too' and still arrive at the same meaning, no? Both phrases imply that the current kids as well as the other kids are included? Unless it's about grammer or and not meaning?
