Somalia: 9-year-old school girl shot dead in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – A 9-year-old school girl has died after being shot in the head Tuesday in heart of Somali capital Mogadishu.

Deko left her life to gun fire opened by a government soldier while on board heading to home in the capital, relatives said.

The bullets also injured 14 other students on their way to home after returning from Hamar Boarding School in Mogadishu.

“It is with terribly broken hearts that we learn of the tragic news after 9-years -old school girl was killed by a soldier”, relatives said.

The victims were taken into hospital for medical treatment, a witness, Hussein Mohamed, a school student said.

Mohamed says he also survived from the terribly incident.

It is unclear if the soldier was arrested or escaped from the crime scene.

Deko’s dead body was laid to rest, as her families called on government to bring the killer into justice.

Earlier this month, six people, inclding two school children were killed and six other school students injured in an Al-Shabaab suicide bomb attack at local government building in Somali capital Mogadishu.
