Deeq A. Posted September 10, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – A loud blast followed by gunfire was heard in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. Huge clouds of smoke could be seen above the Hodan district headquarters in the capital. The blast went off after car laden with explosives rammed into the headquarters, killing at least 7 people. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion. But, such attacks are often carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group in Somalia. The group has been waging an insurgency in Somalia for more than 10 years. A 22,000-strong African Union force is in the country to help the government in fighting against the al-Qaeda-linked militants.
