Deeq A. Posted September 9, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – UN Secretary-General António Guterres has welcomed Thursday’s meeting to resolve border conflicts between Djibouti and Eritrea. The talks were aimed at mediating both countries after foreign ministers of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia arrived in Djibouti capital. The meeting held on 6 September in Djibouti, resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement between Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. UN chief Guterres says the latest efforts to restore peace and stability in the region was a positive example for the Horn and beyond. “We welcome all agreements reached among the four Ministers to work together to restore peace and stability in the region”, he said. Guterres urged all Horn of African leaders to work hard in restoration of peace and othe overall security of the region. UN has, however, reiterated its readiness to support all countries in the Horn of Africa region in consolidating the recent remarkable gains.
