MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Two Djiboutian soldiers with African Union peacekeeping force have been killed in roadside bomb explosion in central Somalia.

The blast targeted African Union soldiers on patrol late on Saturday in Buloburde town, some 465km away from Somali capital Mogadishu.

Two soldiers from Djibouti contingent were killed and several others injured in the bomb attack, Radio Kulmiye reported.

In statement aired by Radio Andulus, an Al Shabaab mouthpeice, said the blast killed 2 African Union soldiers and two other government troops lef injured.

Neither African Union mission nor government officials commented on the latest bomb attack claimes by Al Shabaabn

The attacks by Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab against members of the Djibouti army soldiers in Somalia have been growing for the past months.

Last month, a soldier was killed and two others injured in roadside bomb explosion targeting an armored personnel carrier with Djibouti-an soldiers in Jalalaqsi town, some 369 km away from Somali capital Mogadishu.

The group has been waging an insurgency in Somalia for more than 10 years.

A 22,000-strong African Union force is in the country to help the government in fighting against the al-Qaeda-linked militants.
