Deeq A. Posted September 6, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Somalia is actively working to initiate a dialogue to resolve a border dispute between Eritrea and Djibouti. Foreign Ministers of Somalia, Ethiopia traveled to Djibouti to start a dialogue as they seek to resolve a border dispute ownership, the communications director in the office of the Somali president. The disputed land in question is the Dumeira mountain and Dumeira island which Djibouti claims is being illegally occupied by Eritrea. Somali President and leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea who were meeting in the Eritrean capital of Asmara, had agreed to resolve the impasse in the interest of peace and development in the Horn of Africa region Both Somalia and Ethiopia have been actively working to achieve the normalization of relations between Djibouti and Eritrea. The Djibouti – Eritrea standoff is seen by most political and security analysts as the final rift needed to be solved to restore durable peace to the Horn of Africa region.
