Posted September 4, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online)- Somalia-based Al Qaeda-affiliated jihadist group, Al Shabab has released the identity bomber, who carried out suicide attack on local government office in Mogadishu The 22-year-old man, Abdulkadir Abdullahi Haji Layali from Leisan clan detonated car bomb near Howlwadag district headquarters in the capital, leaving seven people dead. Layali was member of Al Shabaab’s WI fighters in Mudug region before joing in the group’s fighters in charge of bombers, according to Radio Andulus, Al Shabaab mouthpeice. Sunday’s attack killed 7 people, including Koran school chilreen, while 14 others sustained injuries. Neighboring school and mosque buildings were also destroyed in the explosion claimed by Al Shabaab. The Al-Shabab has been waging an insurgency in Somalia for more than 10 years. A 22,000-strong African Union force is in the country to help the government in fighting against the al-Qaeda-linked militants. The group has been driven out of many urban areas since 2011, however, it still controls territory in rural areas and carries out gun attacks and bombings on military and civilian targets.
