Deeq A. Posted August 28, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Heavy fighting broke out between police soldiers and armed militias in Baladweyne town, some 335km north of Somali capital Mogadishu. The clash flared up late on Tuesday after armed militias launched an ambush attack on police station in the town, triggering fierce battle, a witness said. He told Caasimada Online that the mob of angered militias attempted to revenge a rickshaw driver, who was killed by police soldier in the town. He says the heavy bursts of gun shots was still heard through the town as the attackers wanted the killer (soldier) to be handed over to avenge him There were no bussineses and public transportions in the town due to the ongoing fighting. It is too early to say the exact figure of the casualty as the gun battle is still continuing in Baladweyne town. Baladweyne, an agricultral town some 335km north of Somali capital Mogadishu is under control of country’s army forces and Djibouti troops with African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia.
