Posted August 28, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant ( ISIL) has claimed responsibility for killing a security officer in the heart of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu. The group made the claim in an English statement Tuesday through an ISIL-controlled media outlet, Amaq News Agency. “Our fighters shot and killed a security officer in the city’s Wardhiglei area”, the group said. The group says its fighters would continue targeting government soldiers in the capital Mogadishu. It says the group’s assassins escaped from the crime scene. The Somali security forces started security operation over the latest killing in Mogadishu. The ISIL group has carried out similar attacks in the capital Mogadishu for the past months.
