Posted August 27, 2018 Washington (Caasimada Online) – President Uhuru Kenyatta has paid on a landmark official visit to Washington after recieving an official invitaion from Donald Trump The President, accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta was received by a team of senior US and Kenya government officials led by Kenya’s ambassador to the US Robinson Njeru Githae. Mr. Kenyatta held talks with US President Donald Trump, discussing on relations, security, governance, trade and investment, people to people cooperation; and partnership in regional and international matters. Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Monica Juma says the President’s visit to the US is significant in many aspects. The two leaders also discussed on fighting against Al Shabaab group based in Somalia. Both Kenya and the U.S. have troops in Somalia, and the al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group has crossed the border to carry out dozens of attacks inside Kenya, calling it retribution for sending troops.
