Ibtisam Posted May 13, 2010 ^^I'd like to think it is just a SOL thing, rather than SOLers! Nag daa. So is the film good or bad film, someone at least tell me that after 5 pages. I read the book, It is okay, she told her story. I like her better than the one on Top Model, this one knows what she is talking about, and she cares- it would seem. Insults and criticisms are bound to follow. I would realy rather you dont play these silly games. You can certaily call a stripper a stripper. A model a model, a midwife a midwife, an actress an actress, see where I'm going with this? Nice. Now go and promote this important film No silly games from my side. You are fighting a lost battle, dear. Focus on FGM and leave defending this woman alone. She does take her clothes off for a living (she even did in the film), a midwife does not. Now if people would choose to point out that fact because of the values they hold, I don't see why you need to act surprised and go on about MEN and what not. I'd rather promote Debbie Goes To Dallas to be honest (not that I watched that one either).
BOB Posted May 13, 2010 Don't tell me we have another Model called Debbie! Peace, Love & Unity.
NGONGE Posted May 13, 2010 ^^ Sheikh Bob, under no circumstances should you enquire about Debbie or even google the title of that film. She is not Somali and is an actress of sorts (actually, I would call her a whore, since she does porn but I suppose acting is acting).
Ibtisam Posted May 13, 2010 ^^^You posted the title of a porn movie?? I hope you are joking but just in case I wont check.
Che -Guevara Posted May 13, 2010 ^Yes, acting is acting and very good storyline too-A plumper comes and knocks on the door, her husband already left for work..well you know the rest NGONGE

Faheema. Posted May 13, 2010 Ibti, I downloaded a while ago (Desert Flower) plenty of flash photography... but not much substance.

Juxa Posted May 13, 2010 Ngonge would a man be offended if he was told he had Q-axbo tendencies (watching wasaq movies or attending strip clubs)????
Blessed Posted May 13, 2010 Nuune, It's not MY suggestion, it was an actuall project among many and that's not how it was recieved. C&H I'm not against them speaking about their experiences but appointing themselves as spokeswomen for all Somalis is questionable and I do think that while Weris might have her heart in her campaign she isn't the best advocate, have you ever seen her talk? Fatima is an opportunistic little boolshierdher.. Iman anigu waxa kamaan sheegin and I don't who/what Yasmin is. All I am saying I've seen campaigns that worked and they start at the grassroots, Weris isn't there..

nuune Posted May 13, 2010 ^^ loool@Qa-xbo Blessed , I know, I have also seen other projects being tried, but waa lagu guul darreestey. On the side of models campaigning, here we have a Somali girl, she does shows and meetings of FGM,, mostly cadaan people come to her meetings, she doesn't invite Somali people at all, she knocks da door of every Cadaan person and every office displaying pictures of young girls being mutililated, she is only here couple of months, and now she is super model of FGM, wearing all sorts of things including califallaax jeex jeexan iyo xudumo duran kor iyo hoos, she became famous all of a sudden, thanks to FGM. What is the SOLUTION?
Che -Guevara Posted May 13, 2010 ^Grassroots movement at home. I wonder how people receive this effort if it was man campaigning against FGM.
Haatu Posted May 13, 2010 Che, he'd be classed as a pervert who checks under people's skirts. nuune, haven't I already made the solution clear? Haddaanan ceejineynin, then atleast show them videos of poor girls suffering in later life because of this.
