Posted August 21, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – Somali President Mohamed Abudullahi Mohamed has attended a funeral of a soldier, who left dead in military operation against Al-Shabaab President Mohamed, for the first time in 2 years, joined in burial of a soldier, whose name has been released as Abdullahi Mohamed Ibrahim in Somali capital Mogadishu. Ibrahim and other soldiers reportedly lost thier lives to Al-Shabaab during military operation which the country’s army forces captured Marka town, some 91km southwest of Mogadishu. President Mohamed offered his condolence to the family of the victim and wished him to rest in peace. “Ibrahim and his friends were killed, while defending their people and Somalia from the enemy”, Mohamed said. Mohamed expressed his solidary with the the family and the country’s army forces. AU forces and government troops drove al Shabaab rebels out of the coastal town of Marka earleir this week, but militants have kept up guerrilla-style attacks from rural bases.
