Deeq A. Posted July 24, 2018 The UK ambassador to Somaliland and Somalia H.E David Concar is on official tour to Somaliland. Upon his arrival he was ushered to the presidential palace to meet with the head of state. The presidential spokesman Mr.Mohamud Warsame Jama informed Somaliland News Agency the minutes of the meeting. “The president H.E Musa Bihi Abdi held a one on one talks with the British envoy to Somaliland and Somalia. Their discussion touched on the general situation of the Horn of Africa region and in particular Somaliland. They also talked about the kick starting of the stalled Somaliland/Somalia talks so that a lasting solution could be reached between the two warring countries.” The presidential spokesperson revealed. He went on to say that the UK ambassador to Somaliland and Somalia also discussed with president Bihi concerning the parliamentary and council election expected to be held early next year. The president of Somaliland assured the British diplomat that the elections will be held without delay. The head of state asked all countries interested in Somaliland’s democratization process to participate in the elections as observers he singled out Britain to lead the way. President Musa confirmed that the government of Somaliland had already transferred the election monies to the electoral commission. The UK envoy also talked with the president about the fast pace of change in the Horn of Africa and promised to chip in funding of the Berbera to Wajale highway.
