U look at me and call me oppressed, Simply because of the way I'm dressed,

 

U know me not for what's inside, U judge the clothing I wear with pride,

 

My body's not for U eyes 2 hold, U must speak 2 my mind, not my feminine mold,

 

I'm an individual, I'm no mans slave , It's Allahs pleasure that I only crave,

 

I have a voice so I will be heard, For in my heart I carry His word,

 

" O ye women, wrap close your cloak, So U won't be bothered by ignorant folk",

 

Man doesn't tell me 2 dress this way, It's a Law from God that I obey,

 

Oppressed is something I'm truly NOT, For liberation is what I've got,

 

It was given 2 me many years ago, With the right 2 prosper, the right 2 grow,

 

I can climb moutains or cross the seas, Expand my mind in all degrees,

 

For God Himself gave us LIB-ER-TY, When He sent Islam, 2 U and Me!

Mansha Allah sis Mizz Ish nice peace of poem & a good advise as well. Thanx for sharing with us, excatly walaahi i feel the same when i read it i thought i was the one who wrote it, cuz of the similarity & the way i feel when the gaalo look at me just cuz of the way I dressed. Mansha Allah may Allah reward u (Amin). And may Allah make us all the one's who obey his rules & be muminiin salixiyiin (Amin).

Mansha'Allah sistah ish.. thats a beautiful gift u've there...And i would like to say to cover means to have self steem, and to fear means to be alive.. To be alive means to beleive, to beleive means to have faith in the one 'n only Allah subhana'lahii'watacala.. Allah, alrahman al rahim, al'malik..etc and i know some somali sister cover mansh'Allah but then they go to weddings that are being video taped or there r males around,,, i would just like to ask,, What is tha point of covering everyday whether it's HOT, or COLD when one nite U 'll reveal ur oora..??

And may i mention video tapes are international,, 'n i mean that Wallahi..With all my hear... i'm truley concerned for my somali sister's that do, that.. bec'coz in tha day of yomill'gayamaa tha video tapes will not help!!!

And tha shaytan that posessed you to do that Will Not help either ... So before going into something You will regret atleast think twise...

I'm not saying im Perfect for only Allah (swt)

is perfect! and im not a akhwan so don't get tha expression I'm,,, Anywayz thats all i just Wanted to make awareness, on that topic,,
