I remember the night it was on- I was called to observe the shock :eek: (Somalis here don't really do such things).

 

I must admit the brother has a beautiful voice, but the experience i think was somewhat embarrassing for him. It just got worse from that point on for him. The reason the brother didn't progress was because of the language problem and not because he lacked in talent.

 

The sad thing about it all is that he was once a Qur'an teacher

I was told that a somali brother was participating the competition, so I watched from the first night walaahi I felt nothing but embarrassed. I hoped & made dua that he won’t progress further than top 100. Alhamdulilah he didn’t, walaahi I feel sorry for him, such a good voice don’t need to be wasted on sheedhaan (singing). The brother got a good voice, I just hope he focus’s on making Islamic nashiida & reciting qur’aan rather than running after music contract.

I wanted to roll my eyes at first when i read this...but his singing ( in somali) was beautiful..i got a little teary eyed ...lol, im so shocked at myself....lol, I cracked up when i saw that Qoryooley_Tuug wrote that he murdered their Donnell Jones song.....lol, he has potential...I guess the even bigger shock for me was that i never really listen to Somali music much, but i wouldnt mind listening to that song( and that voice) over, and over, and over......Oh my goodness that was beautiful

The judges were kind of too hard on him especially the black woman...I liked it when he sang the somali song...but then again he kinda messed up Donell's song...Has he got star quality??....He certainly does look...YUMMMMMMY
