Somaliland: Auditor-General launches investigation into National Printing Press Agency

HARGEISA– The office of the Auditor General has launched an investigation into the National Printing Press Agency as reports confirm that mismanagement is widespread in the agency. Auditors from the Office of the Auditor-General closed offices of the manager, deputy manager, accountant office and the store.

The auditors have conducted the investigation as they have interrogated workers and vetted documents. The agency is reported to be on the brink of bankruptcy and workers could not receive their monthly wages. The central govt is unaware of what is going in the agency as the manager is reported to made go alone decisions that backfired.

Reports indicate that the agency manager has recently fired four employees who have submitted their grievances of having not received their salaries for the past four months. Attempts to reach the manager via his phone failed as he declined to answer.
