Somaliland: Govt Minister Tours Wajale Farming Initiative

WAJALE– Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Ahmed Mumin Seed flanked by the ministry’s Director General Hon. Ahmed Ali Maah toured on Saturday Wajale government run farming initiative.

The ministry of Agricultural Development is spearheading a campiagn across the nation which is encouraging farming community to plant more so that the nation reaches self sufficeincy in food production and discourage the country importing food from overseas.

The minister speaking said that the mission is to spur food production in Somaliland and reduce the country’s banking on imported food from abroad.

The ministry planted beans, sorghum, maize and sesame in the farm.

There are three farming projects that the ministry of agriculture is running including Beer, Wajale and Xaaxi.
