This changes nothing in the relationship, saaxib. After all, Sheikh Mo is the prime minster of the UAE (and not just the ruler of Dubai). You truly need to understand the intricate relationship between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, saaxib. NGOONGE: You are not making any sense adeer, you say Abu Dhabi was always in control and then in the same line state that Makhtoum is the PM, which is a well known thing. Yes AD has always been the most powerful of the cities and the Nahyans have always had the most power, the issue here is that our lads in Dubai have been going off on some independent streak the past decade or so and PM Makhtoum has annoyed the conservatives in AD, who now have an opportunity to clip his wings. Also we all know they are the same clan, and clan is everything as you state, but these men also run on ego and I think the Dubia family are not as important as they thought a few years back. Is that not right saxib?
NGONGE Posted December 3, 2009 ^^ Nope. It's not just clans, saaxib. Sheikh Mo's mother is an Al Nehayan. His connections to AD run very deep. As for saying that AD runs things (like I said, it contributes over 60% of the whole UAE budget). There are no wings to be clipped here. Sheikh Mo could not have done anything that he did in the past twenty years without their agreement. Wax fahan.
General Duke Posted December 3, 2009 ^^^lool. Adeer the man is a powerful fool, and has run his fiefdom independently, undertsand that also. Now things have gone down, money has been lost, the image of the whole UAE is tarnished, who will pay the price? Or is his mothers connection more important than business. Adeer you need to understand, this is business and the buck stops with the Makhtoums..
