warya horn welcome back. And how was CA "I'm sure recent actions in Puntland are hardly "distressing" enough to call for those sort of actions. Don't you think you are over worrying"? Over worrying I don't think so when close family is killing each other the government must step in. "Cadde is a soft guy" cadde is a soft guy and that's not the kind of person that Puntland really needs we need some one like Abduallhu Yusuf cause when Abduallhi Yusef was here and such act's took place the Government step in right away. I just hope Abdualhi yusuf can do the same for Somalia as a whole and I think he could do that if people didn't get in his way. but so far so good.

Somalia: Government condemns London bombings as barbaric

"Walle iyo walle kan ma aqligiisa baa sii yaraaneyso by every post he makes mise waa aniga base". so explain how is that so. and May I say the same for You. "In other words" kulaha, do you think we are too incompetent to understand that little quote, I mean if you understood it. I don't think they are too incompetent to understand but maybe you are so in other words I am doing people like yourself a favor. -
Quote: "How is our government? We (the Somali citizens) had no say in whose president and who isn't". Each clan has it's leaders and they spoken on behalf of their people so the Somali citizens did have their say in whose president and who isn't but the matter of fact is the Somali people never had a say in any government so what makes this one different? You tell me if the Somali people chose Said Barre or if he chose himself. atleast Abduallhi Yusuf was chosen by those men and women that run the country. "I think you meant that this government is our only hope to have a stable country", yes I did mean that it is our last chance and we the Somali citizens should not worrie about what clan is Prsident or who is not. Because at the end of the day it really does not matter. "because you think that if the Somali people (or certain clans) don't except Abdullahi yusef as president they don't want you (his clan) to be in power, thus meaning that you will always be the "mucaarads" you have always been to every government because they aren't from your clan x. I'm I right"? Woow now you know how I think?. You are wrong brother very wrong. First of all the Somali people have excepted Abdullahi Yusef as President. But did you meant If Certain Warlord don't except Abdullahi Yusef as President the same once that have chosen him out of the 70 somali men and wonmen that were runing. brother what you have to know is that Abdullahi Yusef clan did make him the President of Somali.

The world leaders must join efforts and work hand in hand to combat against terroris coming from somali in other words. -

President Yusuf arrives in the interim capital of Jowhar
Camel Mlik replied to Major-General Cawad's topic in Politics
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.hiiraan.org/2005/july/somali_news26_2.htm Somalia's Transitional President Abdullahi Yusuf has arrived in the town of Jowhar, where he plans to set up a temporary base for his new government. He was met by hundreds of people, including the prime minister, after flying in from his northern stronghold. Earlier this month, President Yusuf told the BBC he would be bringing troops and militia with him. Warlords from the capital Mogadishu have threatened to attack Jowhar if he establishes the government there. "I came to Jowhar and operate from here," the president said, after meeting Prime Minister Mohamed Gedi, who has been in the town since June 18. They set up the transitional government last year, while in exile in Kenya. President Yusuf has been based in Bossaso in his home region of Puntland since leaving Kenya last month, in preparation for moving to Jowhar. Confrontation fears Somalia has not had a functioning government since the overthrow of President Siad Barre in 1991, and 13 previous attempts to end the anarchy have failed. But the new Somali government has been divided since May. The speaker of parliament, Sharif Hasan Shaykh Adan, is operating from Mogadishu. But President Yusuf - who has little support in Mogadishu - has refused to move there while it is still under the control of his rivals. The Mogadishu warlords were named as ministers in Mr Yusuf's cabinet but soon fell out with him, siding with the speaker. Last month, President Yusuf met Mr Adan in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, but they failed to agree on where the government should be based. Correspondents say that unless foreign powers, or Somali elders, intervene, the stage is set for a confrontation between the president and his former associates in Mogadishu. Bangalore IT firm bags USD 25 million Somalia e-contracts - Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 22:22 Bangalore, July. 21 (PTI): Bangalore-based Sobha Renaissance Information Technology (SRIT) bagged 25 million USD worth Somalian e-governance contracts, under which it would develop ePassport and eAuthentication systems for that country. SRIT CEO Madhu Nambiar, told reporters here today that the company would work closely with the Somalian Government in implementing and deploying a successful national passport programme solution. Soon thereafter, SRIT would execute national ID programme, automation of driver licences, vehicle registration and national health programmes, Nambiar said. The e-Passport system will regulate and systemise the issuance of passports to Somalian citizens. Somalia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hasan Ahmed Jama, said in response to a question that SRIT was chosen from among 15 bids of companies based in Asia, Europe and the United States as it "fulfilled our requirements." Jama, accompanied by Special Advisor and spokesperson to President of Somalia Yusuf Mohammed Ismail, and the DG of the PMO, Mohammed Ali Nur, said his country is keen to automate the entire process of authentication of an individual's identity and verify permission. Nambiar said the software part of the turnkey execution would include several core modules including the tracking module which, he added, will ensure a high level of security throughout the personalisation process. "This module would track production in its entirety, providing valuable output reports for the Government's information and analysis," said SRIT, part of the Sobha Group with annualised revenues in excess of USD 210 millions. Quote from the President: "It is imperative that the UN facilitate our goal of making Somalia a stable nation," the statement said. "We are not looking for a permanent removal of the arms embargo, rather seeking support and the resources necessary to deploy our national security force and international peacekeeping mission." Washington - Officials from Somalia's transitional government are seeking an exemption from a 13-year-old United Nations (UN) arms embargo so they can get peacekeeping and security forces in place. "This UN security council action is necessary immediately to prevent the spread of terrorism in the Horn of Africa and to create peace and security," Dahir Mirreh Jibreel, chief of staff to Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, said on Wednesday. The Somali transitional government was formed in neighbouring Kenya last year and moved into Somalia last month. The administration has failed to relocate to the capital, Mogadishu, because the city is considered unsafe. Making his point clear Jibreel met with senator Norm Coleman of Minnesota on Wednesday to press his case. Another participant was Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali justice advocacy centre in St Paul, Minnesota. Minnesota is believed to have the largest Somali population of any United States (US). "The government is struggling to relocate and develop an infrastructure and deny a haven to terrorists," Jamal said. Analysts say terrorists have taken advantage of the collapsed state in Somalia for bases, recruitment and training. Yusuf issued a statement from his home city Galkayo, Somalia, urging the security council to act quickly to modify the sanctions regime. "It is imperative that the UN facilitate our goal of making Somalia a stable nation," the statement said. "We are not looking for a permanent removal of the arms embargo, rather seeking support and the resources necessary to deploy our national security force and international peacekeeping mission." Somalia, in East Africa on the Indian Ocean, has been without a central government since warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991. They then turned on each other and plunged the Horn of Africa nation of seven million into anarchy, and the clans still have weapons from the virtually perpetual wars of the last two decades. Somalia asks for support from US Coleman said he is asking other members of Congress "to help bring greater US support for a stable and democratic government in Somalia". He comment on whether an exemption from the embargo should be granted, and his office would not elaborate on the statement. Marie Okabe, deputy spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, said the security council's Somalia sanctions committee has forwarded the government's request to the full security council, which is scheduled to discuss the country at a meeting on Thursday. Jibreel said it was regrettable that the arms embargo makes no distinction between illegal weapons and legitimate security forces. In addition to the embargo issue, Jibreel said, his government wants the US to help rebuild the country. Source: News 24 Powered by AllPuntland.com Copyright ©AllPuntland.com

Puntland State University partners with MCTC - Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 14:43 We are pleased to announce that in coordination with Somali Family Services, Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) is entering into a sister institution relationship with Puntland State University, which is located in Puntland’s capital city of Garowe. As home to many students from Somalia, we believe this sister institution relationship will further our college’s international education efforts. An entire year of college costs about $300 at Puntland State University. With your generous support, I hope we can all work together to help 30 students attend this university and achieve their educational goals. We are also pleased to host Ms. Zahra Nur whose organization, Diakonia Sweden, has been instrumental in providing technical and financial assistance to Puntland State University.
