Excellent bro. Exactly what I was looking for, since my knowledge in Islam is very limited didnt want to cause more problems than i was aiming to solve.

Another place I did not get to see while i was in somalia.. but i came very close. I once walked for afew hours[the reer badiye have stamina walaahi] to attend a wedding very close to saylac in a place called 'Boon'. The first time i have seen the traditional Saylici Dance. Xidigo do you know how to perform it along with the lyrics ?

I do not have an ayat or hadeeth at the moment , but I will look it up. One example does come to mind though, When the prophet S.A.W died. Many tribes turned away from Islam. The Khalifa Abu Bakar R.A.A , sent the muslim Army against them and he commanded the General (Khalid bin waleed) to kill all the apostate. you still havent given your opinion other than asking me to prove mine, the objective here is to share knowledge not to prove one another wrong. Death is a punishment for Apostasy from what I understand, If you believe or know otherwise pls provide reference, example etc.

I would never let her go, I would be too worried about too many things [security, etc] to even consider it, I have two younger sisters they really hated me when they are 16~19. But we see eye-to-eye when they got to 20+. my advice, be firm, And fulfill your responsibility towards him/her .you are their older brother not their freind.

Huuno is the reer xamar version of 'aboow macaan' and the reer bari version of 'bowe' [not sure about this one] It is most commonly used by reer borame and reer Jabuuti. Dabshid ??? that is a very common name used in borame, surprised you don't know huuno.

It was a few years ago, but it is still available. some courses are audio only and some are video. from what i remember it was done for Electrical Engineering department and the Business department. not sure if you can get other Art courses. I used it as a substitute for going to the lectures, watching the video lecture of the man who wrote the textbook that is used in almost every university teaching this course. I learned alot. dammit they have really great prof's over there.

This was also introduced by MIT a few years ago. it was called MIT open course. Really good video material complete video lectures.I remember this really difficult course I was taking. and by luck the prof. who wrote the text book, a lecturer at MIT did the whole course Free video lecture online. the only problem is it is completely random some courses are offered and others ........

GG I believe the punishment to be death, if that is what Allah has ordered, personal opinions have no place in this discussion. This what i have been taught. If you have some ayaet or hadith stating otherwise I would be happy for the opportunity to learn something.

ilkaha gaduud not true from what i've seen. the people with ilka gaduud, from my observation are from the Howd areas starting from burco to Gaalkacayo , i have seen alot of people from sanaag with ilka gaduud as well. but in boorame not so many. anyway from my very limited sampling I agree with Boorame.

The poster is clueless. but something else worries me, there is a tendency among muslims these days to turn a blind eye away from parts of the religion they do not agree with or make excuses [slavery, killing murtad (anyone who was a believer has turned away from islam), marrying 4 wives etc...] you hear things like, this was for a different time, and a different place. I disagree Islam is a universal religion applicable to all times and all places. to the poster, to kill someone because after they have believed in islam they turned away is a command from allah and his messanger and that is enough for me. And if you are foolish enough to go back to somalia. you should receive the same punishment. remember we are muslims first , then somali

I actually do not use Graphic Packages nor can I compare them just a fan of Open source software. In other Areas of Software Applications which I use extensively the Open source version is much better than it's commercial counter part. I only recommended Gimp because the sister was concerned about counterfeit/stealing. and in this case Open source is the answer... Photoshop may be better technically speaking but for the average user, forking over that huge amount of $$$$$ is not worth the cost-difference.[0:$$$$] especially if it is being used for fun, hobby.
-
I would Recomend "GIMP 1.3x for Mac OS X" or any other Open source software. They are completely Fee no stealing, counterfeit involved all distributed under the GPL2 or GPL3. and usually much better quality than their commercial counterparts. A simple Google will give a comparative rating of Graphics packages.

I did write A book , not a novel but a Technical book. the idea came to me, when i was a TA in a first year computer programming class. There are very few really good basic programming books, that are not language/compiler dependent. It did not start out as a book, but notes i prepared for the students to help them better understand some of the concepts. A friend of mine rounded up all the notes, it took me 3 months to re-write some of them, get enough examples in a few different programming languages, include chapter end question and problems. compile and run the source code to make sure it does work. 2 friends who had to format (font types, header size, indenting, spell check, grammar check) had a really tough time (i was and still am to some degree a very sloppy writer) only sold 300-400 copies I still have 1 copy with me it is barely held together. Wish you the best in your writing career !

that was funny , somali-carabi mix. like a pakistani taxi driver said to me once "Ana shuqul fii imaaraat 24 sana" you think after such a long time they would learn the lingo

There are so many things wrong with this Idea. you have a problem with somali miskiin iska ah oo ka faa'idaysanaya system-ka (I know it's wrong) Did you know that Lieutenant-Governor's are exempt from paying GST.(if that doesn't bother you nothing else should) One of the places your 'hard earned' dollars go is into financing war in Afghanistan and all the other backward foreign policies. and yet you only see the somali problem.... and about the lady getting pregnant what does that have to do with anything I would suggest ....... for pregnancy envy. I see many somali people who are experts in pointing out the many problems of our people but turn mute when 'cadaan' are much worse my 0.02

Im sorry to say i have the same problem. when i began programming(for 8051 Micro controller), we used to look down on web developement as not true programming. I do regret it now... Assembly,Verligo,LISP,C have done nothing but give me headaches ! sometimes i am asked for 'web development' related advice and when i say i don't know my friends are

Thank you for the reply bro. it is for a course i'm taking. with a very finicky prof. he insists "you must use strictly ANSI C , on any POSIX compliant OS" used to love programming ,but was too much work have to go back and brush up on a few things I will check out the tutorial and book. thnx

Salaam all. I know there are alot of programmers on the site. so brothers and sisters i just need some advice. if you have experience with socket programming(strictly C ) in a UNIX environment or any other POSIX compliant operating system. what books/site/tools would you recommend ? havent done any programming for a while I'm more of a network guy, but i do have the basic of C down just need to brush up on pointers and struct's. any input would be appreciated !

half way through, this article while i was rolling around laughing, and again after reading the replies to this post, i laughed even harder, once i realized this was not meant as a joke, but someone was meant this serously , im thinking what are these people made of. sexism, inequality, is nothing new, but it is the way of nature, this is not an ideal world, face reality, if u r weak, u surely can't expect to be on the same footing as the strong. no offence to the ladies, although many women think this phenomemon is gender-based. i believe it depends strength vs. weakness, believe me, if u r a weak man, u will be stomped on, just like it has alwayz been. these westerners amaze me all the time, i swear the're all senile some times. A faarax who is truly amazed .........
