^ as someone who as lived in both cities .. in a way they are very similar .. the toll of war is there for people who want to see. it is amazing once you travel away from the beaches and the high-rise buildings go to the south-side of beirut it looks almost like shangaani it is bullet-ridden, dirty and looks like the war is still going on.

I remember this fellow with the most unusual name .. I thought it was a joke but all 4 of his names are like that no naanays included. Buutey (firstname), Bidaaye (father), dhaga-deele(grand),tuur-xume (great-grand) let's see anyone beat ^ for unique

I threw down the gauntlet so to speak, just to show that he is not the only one who can come up with random stuff .. completely un-related to the thread while at the same time informing us that he has book smarts. Geel_Jire,saaxiib,I am not here to argue with you because, well, I have an incredibly unfair advantage over you. I can perhaps teach you a thing or two on this forum, ^ this intelligence and smarts of yours that you keep referring to has not been on display so far .. but i will give 1 last chance to dazzle me yet

Geel_jire replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
^ adeer .. stop making excuses for him. it is telling that he and some others attemtped to minimilize the destruction visited upon the filthy tigre by our brave young lads ... and here cheers for the death of a hero ... and you say **** yaan la odhan ... that is a compliment where he is concerned. -
The TOL have many uses, but you only really understand maalintaad u bahato. I contribute to whatever ideas they bring my way and they did come up with some really good ones like schools, dugsi quraan back home in the tuulo. so I guess the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. I have a question for the ladies ... (assuming Li-ka shing is a sister if not my apologies). In Somali culture, it is unheard of to contact women directly for anything related to TOL financing of gar, heshiis, xaal or even mag. From my understanding they bear absolutely no responsibility for these things aside from providing a venue and/or food for the fadhi. The reason being, at least from an Islamic perspective is that one of the main reasons men inherent twice as much as women is so that they can take care of those kinds of expenses i.e. incurred in the name of the family, and since the men were the primary breadwinners of the home ... it was the wealth of another TOL. I am not implying anything here, it is a sincere question.Living in the diaspora has changed many traditional roles, for example the role of the provider used to be soley, that of the men but now women and men are equal in that regard here in the west .Since I'm not involved in organizing or collecting TOL related finances (I pay whatever they ask me and i dont ask many questions). Ladies is your experience similar to that of Li Ka-shing in terms of finances ?

Dul-Qarnayn : let me explain why mr. Oodweyne and some of us .. are poking a lil bit of fun @ your post .. cuz it seems like it is going over your head. for example my field of specialization is in Computer & Electrical Engineering ... now back when i was a "smelly student" (to borrow a phrase fom ngoge) i had this very tough course called Advanced Control systems it is a very abstract course which can be applied anywhere in any situation ... when i really got into it .. I could see Control systems everywhere it's like I had a revelation of sorts ... from making coffee to eating even driving, i would notice that i am actually part of a Closed-loop, negative-feedback control system The output of the system y(t) is fed back through a sensor measurement F to the reference value r(t). The controller C then takes the error e (difference) between the reference and the output to change the inputs u to the system under control P. y(t)= keep the vehicle moving in a straight line. F= position relative to the centre of the lane. E= displacement from centre of the lane. C i.e the control system takes the difference of the output and the error (E) and inputs the negative feedback into the loop by changing the input i.e compensating by steering in the other direction. Very interesting stuff ^ eh .. i can make it even more exciting by modeling SOL politics ... but i would bore everybody to death ... i hope you understand what i'm driving @ here.

^ arent you being a lil melodramtic yourself NG first of all ibti did not mention the name of an individual or post the email address of an individual... so your death threat theory is out of the window "info@africacentre.ie" is probably a distribution list or a group/shared mailbox @ best. there is nothing wrong with making your displeasure known to them ... there is a possibility that someone might take notice and @ best give the good sh. a deserved apology or ignore it @ worst either way no skin off your nose !

ok her is one. I have two friends one from waaberi here on referred to as W and one from hawd here on referred to as H. My friend W is a very mischievous guy and enjoys teasing the hell out of H. One day while we were talking about somali politics W & H got into a heated debate ... H finally gave up and pronounced "sxb, maroor bad tahay" . W who is usually a very laid back guy and almost impossible to piss off.... became really angry .. sheekada markay xumaatay aniga & H aan la yaabanahay ninkaan waxa kululeeyay. markii mudo la joogo ayuu W aniga ii waydiiyay "ninyahow maroor maxaad u taqaan ?" .... waxaan idhi dee qof muran badan oo mar waliba dooda ! ... and he started laughing sida qof waalan oo kale. adiga markii danbe waxuu noo sheegay 'maroor' xamar in looga yaqaan 'malawadka' *uptill now i havent confirmed what W has told me ... sax ma tahay ayeeyo fasirkaas ? *

^ waa kugu raacsanahay sxb especially the western thing .. here everything is about the individual & taking care of No. 1 ... lakin dhaqanka geeljiraha the reason why dumaal was so sucessful was the mother/father were doing a selfless act & putting the children's interest before their own even if the replacement (man or woman) was a toad.
