LOL i swear by it. after i came back from Somalia .. i became an expert wearing in wearing the thing .. i even wear it to the mosque sometimes which is close to my house. sxb there is nothing more comfortable to sleep in complete freedom without any restrictions it's the next best thing to sleeping naked a female relative showed me how to tie it properly as well .. to get the fold in the middle & tighten without a belt. i always get macawiis as a gift from family& friends i have at least half a dozen lying around

@ STOIC nice read ... reminded me of my first experience chewing a couple of years ago ... except for me it was back home .. and we bought it by the KG ... i couldn't sleep for 48 hours after that .. and my gum become numb apparently i dug hole in mu gum trying to get the leaves out from between my teeth with a toothpick fashioned from the stem of khat leaves & i bled all over my shirt without realizing it. i probably would have had a better experience had i started slowly .. instead of hitting the heavy stuff .. coupled with a few cups of Ethiopian coffee LOL i was sky high in less then 30 minutes ... except i go completely mute when i chew. after that didn't really care for the stuff ... now i only chew on special occasions like maybe 1 a year.

^ sxb just because some have white-collar jobs do not make us better than nin muruq-maal ah. props to cab drivers sxb ... i personally would love to make my own schedule and work on my own terms .... they enjoy freedom sxb & independence that is virtually unknown in the white-collar world. no azz kissing , no brown-nosing, no office politics, doesn't need anyone's permission to take a few days off.

everything worked out even better than planned ! damn these cadaan know how to celebrate spent the afternoon playing Golf ... I always used to say it's an old woman's game ... but now my shoulder & back ache & I still dont understand all the rules ... but i am definitely interested. had to cut it short when they insisted on going to a bar to continue but it was fun. which got me to thinking how would SOLers celebrate assuming expense is no problem ? (maybe this deserves a thread but im too lazy ) @ Cara ok, u'r in the vip crew with the caano ... but bigays 4 everybody else have a nice weekend folks !

Diplomacy is just another front in the imperialists' proxy war and it is one in which they have more resources, greater leverage, and greater potential to get what they want, how they want it. What took place in Djibouti was in no way a 'peacemaking' effort. The US and its allies unfurled a trap, a platform where they could carry out a tactical strategy under UN cover. Beyond their attempts to curb the growing strength and successes of the Mujaahideen, there were, and still are, noticeable attempts to disrupt the ties between the Somali resistance and Eritrea, to demonize and isolate both, and to forge justification for possible attacks on Eritrea in the future. The thought of the runaways practically tripping over themselves in their blind, feverish rush to partake that setup is made only worse by knowledge of the details of what they signed and have since been promoting. Without speculating on what their motives may be, I think they have displayed treachery and two-facedness of enormous proportions. There is too much shadiness in their activities for me to assume they made a few innocent mistakes and, considering the talk of an impending power-sharing deal between the runaways and the stooges, the ignominy we have seen so far might only be the beginning of what we can expect from them. I concur with Warmoog there is no other logical explanation ... can't have it both ways .. the good sh. is an intelligent man & a master politician as evidenced by everything prior to the Djabouti fiasco ... niavety is not an excuse here because we have already seen the man can dance ... so the only remaining reason to sell-out is a bit more sinister than political niavety

The Advantages of SSD devices over current HDD technology is just mechanical vs. electronic that comes along with all the associated advantages of replacing a mechanical piece of equipment with an electronic piece. - no more wear/tear - no scrachting of the surface of the disk by the actuator arm - dropping a HDD may destroy it due to affects of shock and/or vibration,not so with SDD. - it is much Faster, eliminates all the delay factors involved such as "seek time","spin-up","rotational-latency" - less real-estate because there are no mechanical components - much more expensive per GB (but this will change with time) *This is a novelty now, but soon it will become standard*

^ I agree to some extent .. but what you are referring to is different .. it is when two Qabil's have a querral and for example mid tuug ah laga dilo Qabil X and they kill wadaad from Qabil Y. by the way us diaspora folk fall into this category as prime targets in case you go back home and a distant cousin killed someone. This thread is more about assisinations in general in the context of this war ... which also included western journalists and Aid workers ... who were not killed in retaliation for any Qabil bickering. either way the only reason the author is making noise on behalf of these named individuals is thier prominence while it is a noble cuase, someone should be doing the same on behalf of the nameless whos sufferering is much greater in magnitude and number. -

STOIC bro. can you enlighten me on this Jesse jackson issue what is the big deal .... I dont admire the man but in this instance he didnt say anything alot of people were'nt already thinking. Obama did talk down to them ... furthering the stereotypes ... it is not his job to teach other people about parenting .... Obama is a politician not a preacher ... & saying i wanna cut off his jewels is not blasphemy .. it's just a figure of speech the man is being made into a saint ... which makes the eventual disappointment that much harder ... even now no-where near the general election alot of people are having second thoughts due to his complete reversal on almost all of his prevoius positions -

It has been getting pretty tough the last few years to travel to or even through the states ... A friend of mine recently paid almost 20% on top of the ticket price to avoid going through the states . if they do implement this .. it will probably be a standard option @ your travel agency (gimme a ticket that goes no where near American airspace) Just when you thought you’ve heard it all... A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®. According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline passengers. This bracelet would: • take the place of an airline boarding pass • contain personal information about the traveler • be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage • shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes The Electronic ID Bracelet, as it’s referred to as, would be worn by every traveler “until they disembark the flight at their destination.” Yes, you read that correctly. Every airline passenger would be tracked by a government-funded GPS, containing personal, private and confidential information, and that it would shock the customer worse than an electronic dog collar if he/she got out of line? Clearly the Electronic ID Bracelet is an euphuism for the EMD Safety Bracelet, or at least it has a nefarious hidden ability, thus the term ID Bracelet is ambiguous at best. EMD stands for Electro-Musclar Disruption. Again, according to the promotional video the bracelet can completely immobilize the wearer for several minutes. So is the government really that interested in this bracelet? Yes! According to a letter from DHS official, Paul S. Ruwaldt of the Science and Technology Directorate, office of Research and Development, to the inventor whom he had previously met with, he wrote, “To make it clear, we [the federal government] are interested in…the immobilizing security bracelet, and look forward to receiving a written proposal.” The letterhead, in case you were wondering, came from the DHS office at the William J. Hughes Technical Center at the Atlantic City International Airport, or the Federal Aviation Administration headquarters. In another part of the letter, Mr. Ruwaldt confirmed, “It is conceivable to envision a use to improve air security, on passenger planes.” Would every paying airline passenger flying on a commercial airplane be mandated to wear one of these devices? I cringe at the thought. Not only could it be used as a physical restraining device, but also as a method of interrogation, according to the same aforementioned letter from Mr. Ruwaldt. Would you let them put one of those on your wrist? Would you allow the airline employees, which would be mandated by the government, to place such a bracelet on any member of your family? Why are tax dollars being spent on something like this? Is this a police state or is it America? As we approach July 4th, Independence Day, I can’t help but think of the blessing we have of living in America and being free from hostile government forces. It calls to mind one of my favorite speeches given by an American Founding Forefather, Patrick Henry, who said, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?
