^ they don't really mean wear & tear .. but they are the closest i could come up with I remember those two terms from high school somali physics. i think Rifan & lisan means Momentum & friction which cause wear and tear or the other way around. Originally posted by Isis Naomi: I was reading a book a while back about a man who cheats on his wife with her best friend. She only finds this out 6 months after his death. When she confronts her best friend...her best friend admits the affair but also reveals that she's dying of cancer. She begs her to raise her 2 year old daughter. The woman is conflicted about raising the daughter of her late husband and his mistress but at the end agrees to honor her best friend's dying wish. Anyway, I guess this question would be for the women. Let's say your hypothetical husband has been secretly married to his second wife for a while. She dies. He comes to you and tells you about the situation and you decide to stay with him. Would you raise his child(ren) with that woman if he asked or insist that they be raised by her family (or anyone else for that matter)? Men, if your first wife refuses to raise your children by your late second wife, would you divorce her or have them raised by someone else? **No trolling please** for the sake of clarity in your first paragraph "Mistress" qualifies as cheating .. no argument there but in your second paragraph second wife secret or not does NOT equal cheating ... and should not be mixed up with the former. so If i were to answer the second question: since al-xaaji faarax did nothing wrong she should have no problem raising his child from another woman

for some odd reason .. that fellow sounds very much like a new nomad .. Meiji .. malaha shirkuu fadhiyay anyway this sounds like your typical .. Qabil meeting ... nothing strange about it except the galkacayo - to-kismaayo part the part about .. siyaad barre .. conveniently placing awdal and sool on either side of somaliland to prevent secession .. had me LMAO.

The UK is already fully packed with opportunistic tourist causing some type of damage in different capacities, one less won’t make any difference. Stay where you are and you’ll get no hassle. As for other people who have been stopped and search, the current hegemonic powers decide who is stopped and arrested. Play ball or go back to Somalia. LOL you really believe this drivel dont you ? .. I should feel sorry for you I suppose .. but ill take some jabs at you anyway ... I wish I could be there when the metaphorical rug is pulled out from under you .... it will be soon enough MARX when you grow up and start traveling all by yourself .. you will see what everyone is talking about. until then pass my regards to your refined and cultured prince .. who believes you are not inferior to the real english

^ I doubt he meant it that way walaal. la iskuma caayo intaan arkay. people actually claim they have even if there is nothing wrong with them ... there has to be some other meaning behind it; marka bahasha meeshay ka qasantahay ma garan. Ilaahay ha ku caafiyo walaal.

Paragon,Ma noolshahey adiga ? Ma fiilayi in'aay tahey Isfiilato ,maybe Tifoow. Mind you i don't know what both mean [big Grin] . Anyways thanks for the duco. Iskaabulonimo aaba ahaa wayaahan.Mindaa ayada u'sabab ah? funny you should mention this buuxo; I hope someone can clear this up for me; Isfiilato = syphilis which is a sexually transmitted disease, so why does almost everyone from Somalia claim this damn disease. I am not kidding some wear it like a badge of honour .. wiil/gabadh/islaan/oday.. waxa lagu odhan .. daaya wiilka wuu xanaaq badanyahay .. isfiilato ayuu qabaa ! and I think, ceeb allaha astura .. waxaas wax la sheegto miyaa .. what happened to the good old days .. wagii STD's la qarsan jiray ?

^ it is not as bad as it sounds. things were moving at a hectic pace ... it is about time things slowed down a little. you shouldn't be worried though, yours is a recession & depression proof industry

^ It is especially tough for new engineering graduates .. the market is now flooded with laid off, but experienced engineers. and a graduate engineering degree will help you with two things: - it will cut the time in half .. that you are required to work in your field before you are granted a license to practice engineering .. from 4 years to 2 years. - it will help you out, in promotion to management. but without experience to back it up, it will not be easy to get your foot in the door. goodluck with it sxb.

MARX you dont travel much do you ? I guarantee you, no matter how assimilated or integrated you are .. you will be harassed at airports. here is an example of how bad the 'fair' system has gotten: The US Transportation authority has what they call a no-fly list AKA 'Blacklist' which is essentially a list of the permutation of all Muslims names as surname, firstname i.e ali, mohamed & mohamed, ali (may be a slight exaggeration .. but very close) The put so many people on that list wrongly, that they now have a 'white list' for people who are not 'terrorists' but whose name ended up on the 'Black list' which is in the 1,000,000 region. Now we wait for another blacklist [for people who are on the whitelist, but shouldn't be.] next time they stop you for having a Muslim name, tell them you are the good domesticated assimilated type ... not the uncouth non-conforming type A wise man once said: "He who would trade in his liberty for temporary security, deserves neither"-- Benjamin Franklin ps: here is the actual bill in the library of congress site Fair, Accurate, Secure, and Timely Redress Act of 2009

A Question for you MARX, there was a Brazilian electrician, who was shot by the UK police just after the 7/7 bombing because he was wearing a backpack and looked like an Arab. what happened to "The system allows for fairness and due process. If you have nothing to hide then there shouldn’t be any problems. " ? I'm curios as to how you think integration would have saved his life

Abu sxb, I was in transit. this was very close to 9/11 time .. so everyone was paranoid .. I got the same treatment in bahrain. I was not the only person, at least 4 other brown/black guys were pulled out of the line on that occasion. they were asking me of where I was going, and the visa stamps on my passport and why i went to those places .. BS questions. MARX .. do you really believe what you just posted above ? EDIT I just read your above response .... you cannot be that naive ?

over the last 9 years ... I faced my biggest headaches in heath row airport. once I was prevented from boarding a flight because they wanted to 'interview' me .. which consisted of a 3 hour interview asking me the same bunch of questions over again ... 2 times after that .. I didn't get interviewed but they still kept in the line while checking my documents. I am going on vacation next month, I just payed 10% extra on my ticket to avoid passing through the UK.

@ Ibtisam you are doing great, this is a huge improvement over the last time i saw your written af-somali. like KK mentioned, your biggest problem is with shaqal dheer and shaqal gaab .. especially 'a' & 'aa' also you mix up 'd' & 'dh' .. otherwise flawless.

^ Absolutelly not sxb , madax xanuunkaas kama bixi karo. I am the Project Engineer, my involvement is only as far as a subject matter expert. I do sit in on some of those meetings to provide answers/clarification on the technical scope of the project. my work stopped as soon as the project was put on hold, my friend who does deal with the contractual side of it .. is still knee deep in sh!t ... marka I know what you mean

@ Che I don't envy you sxb. I work with a nut-case tree hugger myself. very entertaining but difficult people

^ @ doesn't sit well with me I remember just a few years ago, when I was told .. hebel is a homo .. I used to cringe visibly .. you could literally see the disgust on my face .. I have even been sent for 'sensitivity training' for a similar case in the past. It still revolts me, but for some reason ... the reaction is not evident from my face anymore.
