May Allah rid us of this evil, it causes nothing but problems within families. Prob wid Somali men (at least ones i know) is that they dnt know what moderation means. Chewing every nyt and sleeping the whole day is crazy. An there are lots of men, with families that do that. I hope the UK sees the light and bans this awful thing...neone know of any petitions I can sign or groups that campaign for this?

Arranged marriages are islamic, I am not talking about the way some asians do it, marrying their 20+ son to his 15 yr old cousin, it does not neccessarily have to be in the family. Ideal situation would be when the person reaches a suitable age, their family do the search for them and bring about appropriate matches. It saves the girl/guy looking and falling into haraam situations. Noone should feel under any pressure to agree to marry someone she does not want to. This is what i believe to be an ideal situation but little is ideal about what Somalis do and what some Asian ppl do to get their children to marry within the family. Salaam.

No they dnt pray, we were waiting for jumma salat once when a lady approached us asking for change, one of my friends said "come an pray first" and she jst went away... I pledged never to give these ppl money once after i gave a woman some money then continued walking only to have her son chase after me along the hogh street for so long crying, "please, please" Gosh i was so embarrased. It sounds a bit mean but i dnt tink these ppl are hungry or homeless, they jst seem to be looking for some way to make extra money, however shameless.
