I am in my mid 20s and I know nxt to nothing about tribes, it is a bit embarrassing esp wid older relatives, when dey ask, "who was it ur cousin married?" (as in wot tribe) an u jst ain't got a clue :confused: I wouldn't even know where to begin wid kids...I dnt think it would do dem any harm not to know. Is it really relevant to their lives here? This is indeed an issue that divides the ummah.As I was reading in Shaykh Al baneeni's book about prayer, we have have a different and destructive method of dealing with differences in fiqh and methodology today than the muslims before us. differences were always present within the muslims but they were able to deal with them in a humble and ultimately islamic way. Is it ignorance? Yes partly but there will always be lay ppl, the average person is not going to be an expert in fiqh. Much of his islamic knowledge will come from his childhood and parents/teachers. I have seen for myself the division this issue causes, everyone thinks they are on the right path by virtue of being themselves apparently. Its v. strange. Differences will always remain, and while there is only one truth in all matters we need to remember evenso we are all muslims and we need to remember our islamic manners. After all did not our noble Prophet (saw) say "I came only to perfect good manners." We should have enough decency to dissagree respectfully but to go back to your point you cannot disagree in ignorance. I guess good manners and seeking knowledge and being a muslim are inseperable. ^^^Iam sure the men will agree with the more wives bit. Iam so sad that the muslim youth (and those that ain't that young) are so preoccupied wid this when madness is happening in the muslim world. Seriously wen the ppl forget Allah and they feel no shame, Allah forgets dem. I dnt know wot can really be done, do datwa among the lay muslims and make it difficult for dem to access this stuff. Social change takes so long and I dnt think its right for this to continue uncensured.

There was news coveage of it on the BBC and they did mention he was from Somalia. I really think its a miracle on the streets of London if Somali teenages DON'T get involved in these crazy things. The street is their home, everywhere you go there are Somali gangs jst hanging about doing nothing. These teenage killings are a new and disturbing trend in London now and I am not surprised Somalis are in there. May Allah grant Abukah peace and a high place in Janna, it was truly his time to go. An if you guys have younger brothers keep them off the streets, give them something to do...make dua for them seriously we live in troubled times. W'Salaam
