  1. There shouldn't be a death penalty anyway. Not if it wants to be seen as progessive. Give them a trial and if they are guility then lock them up.
  2. This is fantastic news. The future of Somalia. I like how casual they look. Like they are in institution in California. I recently heard about Puntland State University too. http://www.puntlandstateuniversity.com/ Lots of good things are starting up, nice to see.
  3. A big thanks to Ruriko Nishino for helping to get started a hospital in Jowhar, Southern Somalia. You can read the story below and find out how you can help the maternity hospital to keep running. http://somaliablogger.blogspot.com/2007/06/doctor-helps-establish-somalia-baby.html
  4. xiinfaniin, well done. I couldn't have put it better myself.
  5. Xanthus, hope you are doing well and are safe. Post pictures of your travels if you can. Be well.
  6. Shameful person, look at him, a big ogre of a clown. A person who is nothing.
  7. Out of respect, they shouldn't publish pictures or videos, like that. No one wants to see people actually dying. It's distaste.
  8. We have to remember that we give too much thought to Ethiopia. This is the second poorest country in the world. It is a complete and utter non-entity. With a population of 70million it has a economy worth about 11billion. That is about the same size as the island of Jamaica. It doesn't deserve respect or the mytical status that people allude to it. The reason why this is is because, we have no unity and have fought amongst ourselves to make ourself weak like this. I don't know what it is, maybe it is something in the back of our brain, but you see that in other Muslim people too, like the Palestinians. I'm trying to understand.
  9. It is very easy and convenient when one is under occupation to turn the other cheek and accept the reality. To fall back on that is what Ms. Abdi and others in this forum have done so. When a cunning and viocuis occupier has killed thousands of your folk and then you have others standing to raise their flag on your soul as they have done so this week. It is very easy to fall back.
  10. That is a good point, N/AA. But understand his article was aimed at clearly articulating THE Somali problem, past, present and future rather than any steps to be taken at the moment, which is what you were getting at. I believe tribalism is the achilees heel for Somalia. Getting rid of it is a must. I believe serious inroads into that can only be taken once there is a effective government and it pushes a radical education and economic development agenda. Only by prosperity will the shackles of clan dependance really be tackled. He said what needs to be said and I applaud for him for that.
  11. Disgraceful. I never saw a more shameful person in my whole life. It makes me sick in the stomach.
  12. Roobleh...You TFg supporters can cry and wail all you want and prance in your clan thug ways. Your clown clan party is dying and is there for everyone to see. Only a matter now.
  13. This is a good idea. Why is a 'peace conference', happening in the country, when it is still under foreign occupation? The rotten tfg want a conference where people are threatned to attend and whose only outcome is to rubber stamp their lacking legitimacy. Fortunently, the people are not fooled and should not attend.
  14. Have you heard about J. Peter Pham? You should do. This Vietnamese American so called 'expert' has a vitriolic hatred of Somalis and the Somali nation. Biased by his pro-ethiopian outlook, in his latest article, he calls for the complete balkanization for the state into different states and for the over-riding goal of US foreign policy of the country to be primarily concerned with ensuring there is no al-qaeda in the country. To him, Somalia should not exist or it would have been better if it never existed at all. I have followed this persons incessant and repeated campaign to target Somalia, he is out of order. Sadly the thing is we have no government that has the capacity to counter him and make him look small. Embassies are created to monitor these people and their acitivies. Had he been campaigning against Israel, he would have been shut off from the word go from the hacks in AIPAC. His whole life activities would have been put forward for public view, what he done, what he hasn't done, anything that can make him look bad, would have been feed to the media. If he has a criminal background, or didn't pay his parking ticket, you get the idea. He wouldn't be able to move. Again, we have to follow the money. News is coming to light over how Ethiopia was able to get it's voice heard in Washington. The use of lobbyists, has been key. With their access to political leaders, the doors are open. I would not be suprised in the least, if this man is in the pocket of that same money trail. Read the attack piece here: http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/global.php?id=1003466
  15. Geel_Jire12, brother you are wasting your time. You have nothing to prove to him.
  16. Look for it in the internet, its there. Some people also took a video of them swimming.
  17. I know it has been debated countless times before, but i wanted just your viewpoint. So for you it is not out of the quesitons, you have a wait and see approach and therefore a pragmatic one. A bit like Silanyo. Which is a good, i must add.
  18. Brother Northener & Jacaylbaro, what is your view on unity? Are you pragmatic in your viewpoint on future reconcillation of the people or are you out and out against any contact with the southern people. I say that because a united Somalia is a cherished goal for me. I say that as I know you are posting freqently on the province in the north.
  19. Originally posted by Tahliil: quote:Originally posted by peacenow: There is no state without sovereignty. There is no peace without dignity. So what r u reffering to? the thousands of tigrayna soldiers in the country or the hundreds of corpses and blown up kids and mothers on every street corner in Hamar? Tahliil, the people here know fully well my position. We are in the most shameful part of our history. Have you seen, the pictures of ethiopian soliders swimming in our beaches? I'm sorry but these people don't deserve the breath. The Americans and Europeans know fully well the skin of the tfg, shortly, they will have to bandage it to them, when the people are done with them. Make no mistake, it will be long and bloody, but it will be done.
  20. There is no state without sovereignty. There is no peace without dignity.
  21. Q: Have you been ousted? I was in the country when the Ethiopian troops came in. They were very good to me. They did not attack my people. In fact they said, "This is the president." They kicked [out] other people who were causing a problem. Up to now, my cabinet is working, our office is working. I went to the United States to find out what is going on. Really, they should be more sophisticated in their choice of words, when they talk to the world press. The brief should be learned by heart and he should more statement like language, since he claims he is president. Some of these people, they often talk like they have never been inside a school. Similar to like these tfg people who are often interviewed. Who betray their thug comedy manner for all the world to see. They remind me of that clown the Iraqi Minister of Information. Really we don't need any more embrassment like this. What must one think, when they read that and then they are told this is the 'President of Somalia'. The situation is grave.
  22. I really wish I was there in London, so I could march with them.
  23. Bokero, what are you doing in Monrovia?! Be careful, Ethiopians claim they are Somali, just so they can enter Europe. If these people are indeed Somali, then we must do all we can for them.
  24. The day I see a sushi bar in Hargesiya, is when you KNOW it has all come together and worked out brillantly. Seriously, the province has done well so far, with it's resources. So well done to the people in the north on their hard work. The real hard work now, would be to codefiy a set of laws that can regulate business and internaction in the province that would be flexible and effective. Sad to see that the leadership of the north has failed to use the tools the internet can bring it. A system of e government, where information is on hand at local source on the web, like Estonia or Slovenia have done, would bring measurable results, very quickly.
