  1. Talks are good as long as SL only represents the folks of the tri-cities. Somali family has to come together in one way or another.

Axmed madoobe is in charge and it seems as if the kenyans are a bit in the background. If hassan sheikh doenst do the right thing now the situation might change. What is the right thing the president should do to diffuse the tension, yaa Xaaji?.

  5. By Sh. Xasan Jaamici Nov. 06, 2012 Yes. There are mixture of feelings regarding the new members of PM Shirdon's government and how they were selected. Many of us view this is a positive but radical change from 4.5 to 5 and from big cabinet to small cabinet. Others believe this selection does not reflect to the expectations of the Somali people and its reconciliation process. Whatever side you are, I do believe that we must be architects of our change. Allah will never change today’s conditions unless we do make efforts to change our conditions toward positive. Allah said: “Truly, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Qur’an 13:11) Read more: http://wardheernews.com/Articles_12/November/Hassan_Jaamici/06_Radical_Change_Needed.html

  7. First and foremost, a government is a survival, political institution guided by agreed principles (Crafted by its people). Apparently, any system adapted by a group of people has its merits and drawbacks, be it socialism, federalism, capitalism and what not. By default, it is a birthright one to form/have an opinion/preference on a specific system of governance and it is quite another not to honor whatever form of governance that is in place at the time. The moral of the story, President Hassan has a say with regards to the formation of Kismayo/Jubaland administration. He is the president of the Federal Somalia after all. However, his involvement should only be facilitating and assisting with what the people of those regions want inasmuch their desires are aligned with the current professional constitution and not a threat to the security of the nation. Our president/government needs to prioritize the major challenges our people and nation face, and it must play with the rules of the game and treat all regional governments of the country equally in order it builds confidence amongst our fractured communities. Having a strong central government or federal one is a matter of another day - but for now we've so called professional constitution and it calls the formation of regional states if two or more adjacent regions so agree, let the government at least to see things through the same prism of which it came to power. Down on the line, we can reconsider centralism form of governance after our people are more reconciled, have less mistrust amongst them and know more about centralism vs. federalism. Sida khayrku ku jiro waa Allaahu aclam!

  11. I'm not that much of a sensitive about clan secessionism in Somalia as I've been before. However, I still support and prefer that we stay in unison alas let us experiment clan secessionism as we see it fit. After all, a government is an arrangement and survival semblance of order. It calls consensus and agreed upon guiding principles.
