  1. Its a known fact that things happen to you when you least expect it. You didn't loose your chance to find a guy you want to marry..waxaan waa wx qoran. It could get frustrating when all your friends are married and your the only one left...But allah knows best so just put your faith in him.
  2. Something must be in the drinking water..either that or that isn't og-girl at all.
  3. Frist man knocking on your door? Girl hold up!!! Guur oo dhan waa calaf...it will happen when it happens. You can't rush something like that so just relax and you will know when its right.
  4. full mail boxes? Mine aint full...I made sure I cleand it out yesterday.
  5. The way I see it...Society dictates what is right and what is wrong for most people. If you follow teh culture blindly then you loose all rational thought. Its up to the individual to figure out exactly what he will follow and he will not. I have found that when it comes to such things as culture uts mostly the women that follow blindly...maybe because they don;t know better or maybe because in that generation the women are less educated. In the cases that i've come across where a girl has gone through FGM, Its the mother who is pushing for it. Which is kind of ironic considering the fact that she knows how much pain is involved in such a process. But as education has become more wide spread the pratice of FGM has mostly died off. I hope that made some sort of sense. 1luv
  6. The world must be coming to an end...Og-girl is being harsh and Rudy is preaching about love? Somethings must be going on here!!!

  15. Asraa---if you feel really strongly about this guy and he's free why keep your feelings to yourself? What do you have to loose if you tell him....? I for one wouldn't be able to keep something like that to myself. Neferttiti--- I do think in jaceeyl la abuuri karo. Its all about how willing you are. You convince yourself that your in love. someone siad that its all jsut sexual chemistry...and I agree.
  16. ^^ I guess I did judging from the big grin on his face..I would say he was pretty pleased with him self.

Originally posted by silent-sistah: lol, well, some one that understands what im feeling, can empathies with me, just cuddle me, and when he winks,,,he sends shivers down my spine,, i guess, romance is not about where he takes you, or what special things he does to prove he cares, but the fact that he cares, is there, and HE as a person is what turns you on.and when he is away, damn, u still remembering the kiss he blew you (that kiss was romantic coss it came from him and no1 else) another guy could take you out, spend all his money, try be romantic,,,but if the feeling is not there, romance cannot be baught! (maybe im talking about love, but if you dont love the guy ,you dont see his romance--u just think ,,,PUPPY!) Ar tan waa lahaayaa....!!! I agree with you though...
  18. ^^^^ thats true. the other day my uncle had just come down form sweden so he was coming to visit us. I went into my room to get out of the awful baati I was wearing. went into my closet..put on a black shirt a jeans skirt put a scarf on my head and walked out to greet my uncle. As I was coming back to my room I just happened to glance down and I saw that the bottom half of my shirt was open and my little tummy was exposed !!! . It turns out that everytime my sister wears one of my shirts and she wants to take it off she opens all of the bottons...I hate that 'cause when i'm in a hurry to go to work I just slip the shirt over my head and i'm done. I guess this time she only re-bottoned teh first half...leaving me to expose myself....oh well...you live and learn.

  24. Originally posted by somealien: oh i knew of it, but that was so graphic. i always look away lwhen watching documentaries about it. accually, funny enough, the first time i found out about it was when i was 11 yrs old and my friend asked me if it was true that somali girls get their privates cut and i was like "no, you must of gotten it mixed up with another country or something" and than my mom explained it to me. i still feel a llil vexed that my friend knew that much about my culture, (and an embarrassing part at that) before i did. I feel you on that.... I was watching an operah show talking about FGM and they showed how they performed this in some of the west african countries. They had this little girl screaming and kicking while one women was hacking between her legs and another was cutting trible markings into her chest...the girl couldn't have been older than 3 years old!! The funny thing its mostly women that advocate such things. My uncle's wife had FGM done to her 3 daughters while my uncle was away because she knew he wouldn't allow it. Its kind of ironic. peace and luv
