  1. QUANTUM - The funny thing is, sxb, that Somalis are too diverse to try and categorize them into the two strict sections. You'll find a man of religion who'll still get mad when his fav politician is dissed or his clan is mentioned in a negative way. I'd we're mostly influenced by the culture we created around ourselves. But that also applies to all the other Muslims. If we truly and fully adhered to the Islamic faith and followed its heavenly instructions, then we wouldn't be in the current global quagmire we're in right now. Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Palestine, Algeria, Chechnya, Bosnia, western China, I'd go on but my fingers are gonna get tired. BTW, those are all the Muslims lands that are currently engulfed in wars. Peace.

lol@Father of Four ahahahahahaha oh boy got played like a fool!
  3. JUBA - Although its not worth it, I'll try to talk some sense into you: If Israel (and its government) were given the opportunity to annihilate the entire Muslim civilization, they wouldn't blink for a second. They would love to destroy Mecca and Medina - because that'll be a blow to the pride of the Muslim Ummah. So keep thinking that the Jews are nice people who smile and are "busy" defending themselves against Palestians. AND as far as "humanitaries" - I think you were trying to say "human rights" - how do you know about Iran's human rights? Have you been there? Or do you read (and believe) the fancy books Ivy League professors write and make money on? No one's perfect. Reflect on this fact while you scratch your head: USA (pop. 300 mil) has over 2 million people in prison. China (pop. 1.2 billion) has about 1.5 million people in prison. Of the 2 million in USA prisons, 57% are African American. Let's talk human rights over a cup of coffee so you can bore me to death with all the crappy propaganda you like to believe!
  4. Informative article. I'm still contemplating on who to blame: Meles and his deadly, ethnocentric politics or the Somalis in Region 5? GEDIID - Siyyad Barre (alaha u naxariisto) can sign a million papers "giving" Western Somalia to Ethiopian imperialism. But what's a piece of paper? The ONLF is still fighting to liberate their land. Try applauding their courageous efforts as opposed to being critical of a dead man's decision!

  7. Gun dude - Why are you surprised? I'm still shocked that we need 31 ministries! Yet, these over-fed parasites we call a Parliament want more. First, they said the PM & Cabinet should be picked from within the Parliament. What that does is NARROW PM Ghedi's selection pool. Then, when he makes his decision, they cry foul? If it were upto me, I woulda spent all the millions that was wasted on these imbecils in feeding the poor Somali populace, some of whom underwent terrible floods that destroyed whatever meager resources they had. But its not up to me or you. Bottomline: the Parliament cheated by forcing PM Ghedi to select from amongst them. If he cheated some of them back, he's right!
  8. Generally speaking, I don't think Somalis follow their culture or religion very well. They adhere to facinating legendary stories of their origins - some in Arabia while others were, at least by one account, imported from Cameroon. I think they just follow names of dead old men who are useless by today's standards. Come to think of it, those men were useless in their day as well. The only thing they were good at is breeding..Like that's a major accomplishment!
  9. Osmaniyah ought to be studied. But I think introducing it as "the" official written language would no doubt make other clan(s) feel inferior - damage their perceived self-worth. Not a good idea coz they got guns nowadays heh
  10. This is all mighty and dandy but where's the evidence..? The beauty of the Net is that any moron can make a webpage and announce all his conspiracy theories. Ethiopia's unnatural interest in Somali political affairs isn't anything new. But these morons who post coffee shop talk and act like its journalism don't deserve a minute of my valuable time. Neither to the morons who believe such nonsense.
  11. Let's talk about the ones who "exploit" such a tragedy and use it as smear campaigns against Somaliland. "The Sadistic Defilement and Dehumanization of Ms. Mako Was Ordered by Puntland Authorities" by Faisal Ali Jama (Ottawa, Canada) "According to unconfirmed, but reliable reports from sources in Bosaso city, Puntland, Somalia indicate that Ms. Mako, the 18 year old innocent girl from Somaliland who was, at the time, living with her cousin in Bosaso who was recently kidnapped outside her home and taken to a secret location, where she was sadistically gang raped and tortured horribly by more than 20 men comprising of Police Officers and civilians thereby gravely damaging her feminine organs and disfiguring her physically and leaving her lying in a state of comatose, near death situation, and utter helplessness was actually planned, organized, and implemented by the Puntland provincial authorities." READ MORE HERE: http://www.somaliland.org/opinions.asp?ID=04110708 or http://www.radiosomaliland.com/index.php?itemid=418&catid=8 SO, I agree - its a tragedy that should be accepted at face value. But some have used the story to attack the S/land administration (sometimes rightfully so, esp against the CID). But others - like Mr Faisal Ali Jama above - have decided to COMPLETELY overlook the real story and make up a fabricated one in the hopes of creating further division between Puntland and Somaliland. Did it work? Apparently not because such a horrendous act against a Somali lady (or any lady) would never be tolerated in Boosaaso! Why is Samsam's abuse being tolerated in Somaliland (for no one has spoken out against it, accept Jamhuriya & Rakiya Oomar above). And why has the S/land populace suddenly turned so submissive (as in, why aren't they speaking about against the decision to illegally jail 4 attorneys who defended Samsam)? As far as indifference - we're at the height of political propaganda season. You'd expect political opportunists to jump at this chance, wouldn't you?
  12. Iran wants to control Mecca and Medina..? OG is right: Before the invasion and occupation of Iraq, the average American didn't know what "Sunni" or "Shia" meant. Today, all they do is report about the "Sunni triangle" and the "Shia stronghold." Divide and conquer: the oldest trick in colonial politics. IRAN - I believe that Iran already has the technology to make nuclear programs - and that it uses that ability has a bargaining chip to reach its own national goals. However, this American-Isreali pressure to get Iran on its knees is a way to cripple Iran through U.N. sanctions (as they did in Iraq in the early '90s) and then - when the timing is right - to invade it and conquer it in the name of "liberation." Deja vu? John Abazaid (chief commander of American occupation forces in Iraq & Afghanistan) recently warned Iran not to "underestimate" the U.S. military. When did Iran underestimate the U.S. military? He went on to brag about U.S. military might. I was quite surprised. Esp more shocking when you realize they're words coming from the lips of a Lebanese!
  13. No plane has ever landed on tarmac laid with guns, "technicals," ammunitions, and dead people. This reminds me of the old English idiom: "Look before you leap." This government is very strategic. With Arta, Abdiqassim wasn't offered the opportunity to land at Muqdisho Int'l Airport. But this government has been offered such an opportunity. And PM Ghedi already stated that he'll be landing at Muqdisho International. The world is watching - and waiting to see the sort of reception this government's leaders can get in Muqdisho. My prediction: PM Ghedi will select a Cabinet that will consist of many Muqdisho-area politicians (incl. ex-warlords). Who can deny Muqdisho politicians (led by Muqdisho's own son, PM Ghedi) the right to land at the Capital's airport? Let them relax at their hotels: they've got a hard task up ahead. And what's this talk of Egypt? Only a fool would believe such a notion!
  14. "For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us." That's deep. That's all I can say.
  15. What about the love between Ayan Hersi Ali (Somali-born Dutch parliamentarian & outspoken enemy of Islam) and the dude that will beat her to her senses (in the future)? I'm writing it - its called "One Hundred Nights of Abuse." Its coming out on BananaHouse Publishing, LLC.
  16. ^^ Call it off then cry under the covers, huh. Good plan! A chic is worth fightin' over if she has a reputation for delivering the goods on time (shaped like a figure 8)! Other than that, its jus another chic - I'd rather catch the next bus!
  17. Garab tujiye - u can't have love for another woman? I guess you ain't ready to fulfill your Islamic duty of 4 wives! Honestly, I wouldn't sacrifice any. I'd tell him to kill 'em all and I'll spend the rest of my life hunting the Bastid down fo sho!
  18. LOL Gediid said - "Wondering who's doing the schoomozing in here. Ma Smith baa mise waa Horn" Viva Somali-land!
  19. Raping 16 year old girls? Those animals ought to be caged and the keys given to me! That poor girl's plight is so international right now its not even cool. Allaha u gar-gaaro.
  20. ^^ Homie what I said are words on a screen. The truth is some dudes clad in camouflage came to a house my Dad built and told us to get the F out! Imagine how that feels. Nothing "harsh" about what I said - coz its exactly what happened. But life ain't fair, now is it? Anyways - my point is: Dhul Soomaaliyeed waa wayn yahay. Why I gotta limit myself to my hometown? I don't hate Muqdisho - coz its my hometown and the capital of my Nation. But will I ever live there? NO. Will I visit? Yes. But getting kicked out of your house and being told you don't belong there ain't something I'll ever forget. So no need to sugarcoat reality.
  21. Puntland in chaos! This dude announced it like it was a celebration. I guess you like to celebrate the death and destruction of your Boss, huh. Just call him Mudane Madaxweyne coz that's what all your idols are doing - and shining his Italian loafers! hehe
  22. lol@hit a Somali in the face wit a shovel! The rest were quite mediocre and unfunny, though.
  23. Muqdisho = Fallujah. Who in his rightful mind wanna go back and live in a God-forsaken city drenched in the blood of the innocent? Especially after they were kicked out, as if we ain't Somali enough! Puntland needs to remain in the North. Hiiraan needs to remain in the central and so forth. No one needs Muqdisho - a city built on xaraam!
