  1. USC criticizing USC! Failure after failure has forced the USC to disintegrate - because the Promised Land was not in sight. How many times were they given the top post? How many times did they fail? And how long will Somaliwayn put up with USC failures, esp in matters of re-building nation-state when they can't even agree to peacefully co-habit Muqdisho? XOOGSADE needs to read this self-reflection. Facts on the ground far outweigh any supposed prejudice people might have about Muqdisho.
  2. ^^ Let's see if there's a way to reason with you: You're absolutely right that the average people of Muqdisho feel neglected by this TFG leadership. But what power does the average Reer Muqdisho have to change the status quo? In dealing with Muqdisho, you have to deal with the people in charge: the war/druglords, clan courts, illegal businessmen, etc. Those are the powerbrokers - or are you in total denial of this fact as well? Therefore, if those very people are the powerbrokers and are against the TFG (although most are members of it), then what chance does the TFG have of surviving in a city dominated by opposition forces? Truth is, anyone who advocates for Muqdisho wants the TFG to face the same fate the TNG faced: demise at the hands of the aforementioned powerbrokers! And please, for the sake of facts, don't try to portray Reer Muqdisho as victims of Col Yeey - what the hell did he ever do to them? He victimized Boosaaso and Qardho, among other places. But Muqdisho? If they (Reer Muqdisho) have a proper mind, I think they could easily pinpoint the epicenter of their problems: the powerbrokers vocally led by the warlords! If Reer Muqdisho are victims, they're victims of the very same men they know support. They believed the unfounded lies of some 'sheik' who was arrested by Garoowe police and all his stuff confiscated - yet, strangely enough, he escaped with detailed maps of an imminent Ethiopian invasion that was being prepared in Garoowe of all places! Where's the logic in that? Why the hell would Ethiopian military intelligence prepare or even host their military plans in Garoowe? Where's the ONE PERSON from Muqdisho who wonders aloud: how did this guy ('sheik' Xasan, I think) manage to escape with maps after he was detained and his belongings confiscated? Where, I ask you... Save me the preaching about the average Reer Muqdisho: they're victims of their own sinful acts of the past decade. The efforts of the honest few must never be overlooked - but the work of the evil ones overshadows any good that could possibly come out of that city. That city will never rest until the untold atrocities are laid to rest! You can blind yourself from that all you like sxb. But every knowledgible Somali knows Muqdisho for what is was, and what it has become: it is the single living proof that USC cannot lead Somalia. They can't even agree amongst each other to open the air and seaport! Where are the Reer Muqdisho demonstrations asking for the re-opening of these vital ports? Yet, they rather be busy demonstrating against Col Yeey's policies - but won't take a minute to self-reflect on their current sad state of affairs! I think I've said enough.
  3. ^^ Dude, Mogadishu ISN'T safe. Yaad arintaas ka dhaadhicinee? You think flooding SOL pages with your talk of 'Mogadishu is safe' will change the city's 15 years of ruins overnight? No legitimate government can function out of Mogadishu - ask Abdiqasim Salat and his failed TNG episode. The same men who opposed Abdiqasim Salat (Atto, Yalaxow, Qanyare) are now opposed to Col Yeey's TFG. It has nothing to do with the 'shaqisad' of these men (Abdiqasim or Yeey), but rather the fact that Mogadishu warlords don't want change, don't want their various powerbases to be taken over by some 'government.' These men (Atto, Yalaxow, Qanyare, the numerous businessmen) can't be trusted - Abdiqasim Salat didn't trust them back then, why should Col Yeey trust them now? Cismaan Caato is the same guy who was behind the assasination of the late Gen Aideed. You think Col Yeey, Ghedi, Hussein Aideed etc forgot about this? You talking about going to Mogadishu and standing next to these warlords - that's not the problem. Nor is the problem the militias. The problem is the warlords who'll undoubtedly send hit teams to the TFG compound. Col Yeey doesn't want to go to Mogadishu for the same reason Atto or Yalaxow don't want to go to Baydhabo: because they want to stick to the place where they have power. In Mogadishu, Col Yeey might be 'president' but he's merely a citizen with no enforcement power because power is in the hands of (aside from Allah SWT) the warlords. In Baydhabo, Col Yeey enjoys the support of the warlords there and so can enforce his power - which is what the Mog. warlords are against. Quit trying to turn the issue into an issue of Col Yeey not showing love to Reer Muqdisho. He landed in Jowhar and was welcomed by the cheering thousands - tell me, what's the difference between dadka Jowhar dagan iyo dadka Muqdisho dagan?
  4. I'm not sure I understand the question here: there should be room for suing the Euro Union because they caused the tsunami? How can anyone sue the EU for the tsunami - a natural disaster? Or are you refering to the toxix waste dumping issue on the Somali coast? Pls clarify
  5. Their argument has always been that Palestinians are Arabs, therefore all those that lost their houses and lands as a result of Israeli occupation, should be absorbed by Arab countries and given citizenships there; there is only one Jewish state, there are over twenty Arab countries, “where is the fairness?†is their argument. Only a Jew would find logic in that argument! Now back to the vice trade! Men who enjoy the company of ladies of the night will not be disappointed in Dubai. There are blondes, brunettes, blacks, whites and Arabs. There are cute looking Russians, dazzling south Asians and voluptuous Africans (including many Somalis, surprisingly enough). Apart from the hotels, private apartments and fake massage parlours; there is an actual and real Red Light District! Women of different nationalities, wearing provocative short skirts and tube tops parade those streets and haggle with curb crawlers! The sum total of all these prostitutes might not be 30%, but the fact that such a thing could openly take place in a Muslim and traditionally conservative Arab country is probably what makes it seem that much. What is it with Arab men and blondes? From time to time, I'll find an attractive blonde. But, I've seen way too many Arab homies drool at the sight of a blonde - the same way we would drool at the sight of a coke bottle-shaped, light-skin mami. Anyways, sad to see the state of affairs in Dubai - a Muslim city. I suppose people think of all this as 'progress', huh? Its true that with rapid urbanization and industrialization comes all the vices of the world. But the challenge is to find that perfect balance: achieve economic boom while limiting a revolution of sin! Regardless, the latter piece was much more detailed and meaningful.
  6. SOURCES: SBC Online, HornAfrik etc - Reports about C/karin Laqanyo - leader of 'Midland' - was in Jowhar for talks about security and possible coordination with Middle Shabelle warlord Mohamed Dheere. A few days ago, weapons and munitions arrived from Ethiopia into Beledweyne, and ended up in the hands of Laqanyo's militia. Laqanyo has also aligned himself with the TFG leadership. I still don't know this Laqanyo guy and the whole thing about Midland. http://www.sbconline.net/news.php?page=newspage&id=3895 http://www.hornafrik.com/Newspage/newsid07.htm#2
  7. Waar cawaantaan cid iska dhicisa miyaa la waaye? Reer USC have justified their unjustifiable attempted extermination of certain Somali clans in the early 1990s by saying that Somali govts between 1960-1991 had committed injustices against them. However, they've been held hostage by their own armed USC brethren for 15+ years - and the injustices incurred during this period outnumber those of the past. Yet, there's no action to even attempt to 'free' themselves from the shackles of warlordism. Where's the revolution now, when its needed the most?
  8. this group is condescending in attitude, dismissive in tone, wrong on facts, ignorant about politics and history of Somalis, vocal in their posts, judgmental in their write-ups, and contradictory in their exhortation. You've declared war on the less-sophisticated by making the statement above. they would come to the rescue of one notorious warlord defending him as any good lawyer would have done and convict another lesser profile warlord to high crimes including genocide. Some defend Col Yeey in wrong and right Others defend USC 'mujahids' as long as they're anti-Col Yeey Polar opposites but somehow we must all survive as members of the greater Somali nation. Issues are simple: demobilize militias, occupation militias should return to their traditional homes, work together to form a government for all. Hal far fool ma dhaqdo. But are they genuine about helping the Somali people or would rather spend their days fantasizing about their version of Somali nationalism and Islam? I think they've long ago opted for the latter..

Is that why the clan of Yusuf Garaad have been scrutinized so meticulously ( by some familiar sources , may i add ) lately? An impressive list. A list that includes such nationalists and jihadists as Yusuf Indhacade and Gen Galaal. Yes, they oppose Ethiopian "occupation" of Somalia - but they support their own occupation of parts of Somalia. Such nationalists who attack Baydhabo, who forcefully occupy the fertile lands of coastal southern Somalia. They oppose OCCUPATION - except theirs. Sad that Somali nationalism and Islam have become the scapegoats for every evil act committed in Somalia today. As for the "familiar sources" comment - did you forget that Ooge's article was first posted on MIDNIMO.com? If you're not familiar, MIDNIMO.com is owned by people from Mogadishu. Also, read this piece posted on Jamhuuriya Online page (Jamhuuriya is a national newspaper in S/land). Or is S/land part of the "familiar sources"? 10. "Dubai is the place where Arabs come to sin - the Bangkok of the Middle East". Vice, directly and indirectly, may account for over 30% of Dubai's economy. LOL @ start bashing. But prostitution accounting for 30% of the economy? Isn't this GAAL exxagerating a bit? The article seems one-sided and the intentions of the author are questionable. I'm always astounded that its mostly Caucasians who want to write pieces about the cultures and economies of others. What happened to the natives of Dubai? In city that developed, I'm sure they could find plenty of writers who'll deliver a different angle on the story of Dubai. All stories have two sides. And I have a real hard time believing the 30% thing.

Pukelanders LOL Real original. Your friends must think you're a real 'mujahid' fighting against the infidels from 'Pukeland' with your creative twists on words on the Internet. How many like-minded folks do you inspire? Be honest okay..
  12. Good news indeed. Cadde Muuse understands the importance of basic education - and he's doing the best he can in advancing it. The introduction of free primary schools will encourage many more students to attend schools and contribute positively in the fight against Somali illiteracy.
  13. "Malnutrition: Why we are skinny!" - What kinda title is that? And more importantly, what's that title got to do with the news item you posted? Your lame attempt at turning a human calamity into a joke is a simple indication of the fact that the West has filled your belly for the time being - and has eradicated whatever little blood-and-heart connection you had to your motherland. I suggest you re-assess your sense of humor, for if tragedies are jokes in your world, you're bound to face some difficult challenges in the future of your social life.

They have insulted their grandmothers, saaxib. Who cares if their grandmothers get insulted? If folks wanna preach about Arabs I suggest they refer their ideas to the terrorist TV network of Qatar. I'm surprised the Americans haven't shut down that piece of journalistic garbage yet. What this hypocritical, un-Islamic, White boy-loving Saudi regime did to those 6 Somalis was plain wrong - and some people won't admit that because they have 'blood ties' to the Arab victims of America's diplomatic doggystyle!
  15. LOL Col Yeey is vacationing. Some people call him 'president' but he'd much rather be a tourist. Weird, ain't it? The guy doesn't even seem to care for all the cries coming out of Nairobi of the "khilaaf" that's destroying the so-called federal gov't. Abdiqasim Salad started a trend: become Somali president, make money, invade lands and retire a filthy rich businessman. Its lovely. But, what about Riyaale the Runner? Is he getting desperate too? Last I knew his police stormed the headquarters of KULMIYE party - a sad, undemocratic incident. Axmed Siilaanyo (who should've beat Riyaale in the pres. election) said on Hiiraan Online something like "Reer Somaliland didn't take $hit from Siyad Barre and they won't take $hit from Ina Riyaale." You think that's a fair statement? Although I didn't get what he meant when he said every Somalilander that returns joins UDUB party. Care to elaborate? Or you busy chewing and celebrating Col Yeey's predicted demise?
  16. I ain't comparing Sharia Law to its inferior Western counterpart. What I'm saying is simple: if the Saudi Arabian government was true about Sharia, then most of its leaders have already committed crimes that have "corrupted" the land. For me, its all or none. Why have double standards? Why are the leaders ABOVE the law? HADDAD - I'm pretty sure you're not familiar with U.S. law. Sentences for armed robbery in my state depends on the extent of the damage committed. I was simply comparing what those executed men did - I'm sure they didn't rob a bank (which has a maximum sentence of 25-to-life). They committed armed robbery - of a house, or a person's belongings. That's a 10-year sentence. And depending on behavior, you get out at the 5-year mark. Besides, I ain't commit a crime but I know America's legal system is much better than a legal system that hides behind the name of our Holy Religion - yet is nothing even close to it. The Saudis ain't no different from any of the Somali leaders who today say they're "Islamic clerics" or whatever! Its sad to see our religion become the scapegoat for every man's personal agendas. Its sadder that people like HADDAD support them! I hope you ain't blinded by your blind love for the Arabian system. I much rather be a leader than a follower - and the Saudis have proven to be followers and oh yeah, did you forget about Saudi Prince Bandar (Saudi ambassador to U.S.), aka Prince Bandar Bush (because he's so close to the Bush family)! I suggest you watch a program called "Kingdom on the Brink" - CNN Presents. The prince wearing a khamiis and his toilet is made up of gold isn't a lie. Nor is it a lie that same prince has half-naked women working in his office, and he openly says that he's "progressive"! Save me the double standards. I could care less for those dress-wearing Arabs. I'm just furious at the fact that they use Islam as a facade to fulfill their earthly desires, their bigotry, and their naageesinimo for White power!
  17. ^^ Think, thought. What's your freaken' point? Help me understand: you like those dress-wearing Arab leaders? Let me put it in language that enough comprehension-challenged individuals such as yourself will understand: I DESPISE ARAB LEADERS! When it comes to Arab v. America, I'm pro-American. I live here in peace - and even if I were to commit armed robbery, I'd get a 10-year sentence with a chance of parole at the 5-year mark. That's a much better legal system than cutting people's heads because they supposedly sowed "corruption in the land." Ain't the land ALREADY corrupted? Doesn't the presence of U.S. military personnel on Saudi soil automatically "corrupt" the land? And don't get me started on homosexuality in the "land!" If anything, they should cut off the heads of all the homosexuals that are destroying the social fabric of Saudi Arabia.
  18. ^^ I don't understand why you make it a point to respond only to Taliban or extremist issues. I also don't know where you got this idea that I think Saudis are "infallible" - I think the Saudi leadership is a bunch of goons who've been doggystyled by Western leaders for so long they forgot how to walk properly. So, how exactly do I have "higher expectations" for these scum? And, in reference to the "extremists" - I'm only using the language the West (and Saudi gov't) uses to describe the true Muslims you've described above who are engaged in a battle to rinse Saudi Arabia of followers-acting-like-leaders! If the bin Saud gov't had a pint of real leadership raging in their blood, then they wouldn't be getting birdfed by GW Bush & Associated.
  19. The people who ought to get beheaded for murder, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking are none other than the ones handing down the punishment (the Royal family). I didn't expect anything good from these goons oo ka marya wayn dumarkooda. We're only in the 4th month of 2005 but the Saudi gov't has already executed more people than they did in the entire year of 2004! And now, they're engaged in a battle to fight "extremists!" Who's the extremist here? And my comments shouldn't be taken as if I'm supporting the men who got executed. I'm just against Arab gov'ts, their hypocritical behavior and their double standards!
  20. Radio Horyaal is an independently-owned media based in the U.K. On March 4, 2005, Hargeisa police stormed the headquarters of a political party named KULMIYE, led by Axmad Siilaanyo, who's arguably the most popular figure in S/land politics. Radio Horyaal spokesman, Axmad Xaaji Nuur, has criticized the S/land government action: "Maamulka Radio Horyaal wuxuu canbaaraynayaa weerarkii qaawana ee booliska Somaliland ku qaaday xarunta dhexe ee xisbiga KULMIYE. Waxaanu u aragnaa falkaa xadgudub aanu gayin shacbiga Somaliland iyo madaxdiisa sharafta lehi. Waa wax lago naxo oo aad u weydaarsan sharciyada dalka iyo anshaxa toosan ee dadka iyo dawladda gala haga. Foolxumadaa shalay (03.04.05) ka dhacday magaaladda Hargeysa iyo weerarka badheedhka ah ee xukuumadda Somaliland kula kacday xarunta xisbiga KULMIYE waa arrin aan loo dulqaadan karin. Waxaa wajaab ah in shacbiweynaha Somaliland, Golayaasha Somaliland iyo madaxda Asxaabta Mucaaradka ahi ay meel uga soo wadaa jeestan wax ka qabashada falkan yakh yakhsiga leh ee Dawladda Somaliland kula kacday asxaabta qaranka." SOURCE: somaliland.org Riyaale is undoubtedly showing his NSS face, again. The S/land government has been keeping independent media from operating in the country until a proper Press Bill is passed by both houses of Parliament. Because independent radio can't operate, the arrival of Radio Horyaal on the scene goes against the wishes of this unpopular S/land government, which accuses the Radio of being pro-KULMIYE Party, an absurd and baseless claim. This police action, combined with the recent firing and detention of some radio personalities in Hargeisa, is a problematic sign for the S/land admin, led by former NSS agent Dahir Riyale and a few cohorts who oppose anyone that opposes them. Day by day, Riyaale is showing his true NSS colors. But how long will people put up with the same injustices (detentions, anti-media actions, anti-gov't demonstrations in which the demonstrators were outnumbered by the police) they'd bled to liberate their land from?

And you're absolutely right - this thread should only focus on the new Islan, which is why wrote: Originally posted by wind.talker: I didn't even want to write this on a post dedicated to the new Nugaal Islan but you made that statement about Pres Sharmake. I never said Pres Shermaake (alaha u naxaristo) was a 'saint' nor did I try to paint such a picture of him. I just don't get it when you say that the "Northeast was neglected" - as if other regions had sky scrapers and water dams! Mogadishu was the center of power, of economy, of education, of everything. Which means most other regions were neglected to various degrees - and not just the Northeast, as you've implied. I don't get this idea of playing the victim card. If Reer Northeast wanted to build Boosaaso & Galkacyo, no one was stopping them. But they were too busy building Mogadishu (along with everyone else because that was the ctr of everything). And what's with this conspiracy theory about Kismaayo? And how does that apply to you feeling like a victim by being neglected by previous Somali presidents (be it Adde Cade, Sharmake or Barre)!

Isn't that the reason he was assassinated by his own kinsman? So, in this case, you agreed with the assassin - that Pres Shermake should've invested more favorably in the Northeast at the expense of all other Somalis (who voted him into office)? Its amazing how you think sxb. I didn't even want to write this on a post dedicated to the new Nugaal Islan but you made that statement about Pres Sharmake. Try to re-structure your thinking -everything shouldn't evolve around what clan is leader so they can invest in their region. That's one reason we're in this $hithole to begin with!
