  1. Its true what Dayniile.com said about pro-Puntland websites and the fact that they always portray a negative image of Muqdisho. But, this is also true for the BBC, HornAfrik and other media outlets. How can you write "good" stories when the bad ones outnumber them? Originally posted by Mobb_Deep: If anything, Hobyonet should worry about stoping the Hobyo war na'mean. How "un-nationalistic" of you! How can you expect nationalists, such as HobyoNet.com webmasters, to write about the Hobyo civil war when they're busy writing about an imaginary jihad going on against our eternal enemy, Ethiopia?
  2. JUMA - "Those people it concerns" are the same people committing the murder and mayhem! Why don't they solve it? Militia de-mobilization was successfully done in Somaliland and Puntland in the '90s. Why can't Muqdisho politicians do it? Or have they created an animal they can no longer control? More importantly, do you really believe its all Ethiopia's fault?
  3. Originally posted by General Duke: ^^^ Look Wind, Now lets see what do you stand for, and who do you support ??????? I stand for the honor and dignity of our Somali people. Col Yeey stands for the power and greed: the two things that destroyed Somalia as we knew it. Yet, you blindly continue to support him. And you wanna preach to me about what I stand for? I think you need to reflect upon your values as a Somali - for if your values coincide with those of bloody Col Yeey, then I do pray for you and pitty your soul.
  4. I've never quoted myself but I'm trying to understand where TOLSTOY is coming from. This is what I wrote earlier, before he responded with a weak attempt at "character assassination": This is not enough. Faisal the Hyena should be banned from all public experiences and forced to relinquish his UCID chairmanship. On the other hand, Guulwade Riyaale is really knocking out political heavyweights with his heavy-handed response to multi-party politics (another case in point: police seizure of KULMIYE party HQ). Faisal's folks declared a revolution against the late Egal's (alaha u naxaristo) leadership, yet they remain quiet as minority member and former Guulwade, Riyaale, ruins the dreams once espoused within the framework of an independent Somaliland Republic. Then, I get this: Originally posted by Tolstoy: Perhaps, you should try to help him with his exercise of building his thinking faculty, and see to it, since you two live in the same city, namely Seattle, then perhaps you could asked him to visit with you the nearest intellectual fitness centre, whereby said exercise can be entertained holistically, so that next time, he - Mr. Wind.Talker - decides to engage the rest of the SOL community with a back-and-forth debate, Now, are you saying that my previous quote is incorrect or inconsistent somehow? Is there anything wrong with my previous quote? Did I say anything that wasn't FACTUAL? I really don't know where you stand on that issue because you haven't responded to any of it - you've just been shooting blanks at me for the past couple days. So, come at me with FACTS and not just baseless claims! And a man you're age shouldn't spend so much time staring into a computer screen.

  6. Originally posted by General Duke: Sky my advice is simple, hurt these brothers with facts and dont get down on their level. How can "hurt" and "advice" be used in the same sentence? You're logic here is as flawed as the one Col Yeey (twisting arms, LITERALLY) has pursued throughout his bloody career. And I do apologize for dragging your Honorable name into my minor skirmish with the chameleon kid. What do General Duke and black.hawk have in common? They've both changed their nicks on SOL more times than anyone else I've seen. But why? Changing nicks but not rhetoric. They're still here singing Col Yeey's old tunes. P.S. I'm the N-word for life. Being in a "N" is something I'm immensely proud of. If anything, black.hawk should be banned for copying the exact style I've designed my nick in. I should've patented that when I had the chance. Oh well, the price I pay for being in the presence of uncreative minds
  7. Originally posted by HornAfrique: For all things considered, Al Itihad did very well in Gedo. To be honest, the history of Al Itihad in Gedo is vibrant and there was religious as well as econimic developement not to mention the almost end of sub-subclanish conflict. Two brothers who are distant relatives of mine and who are now my neighbors out in the southend were both members of al-Itihad in Luuq sxb. From the stories they share with me, I've gotten the impression that Gedo, under al-Itihad control, was the best of times in the post-1991 era. That just means that that al-Itihad and the one this guy's claiming might share the "name" but operate under different ideologies. One of the brothers was a soldier in the al-Itihad army that fought against Ethiopia '96 invasion. He said, before Ethiopia's invasion, Luuq was a safe haven where education and general goodwill prospered above all else. For instance, the punishment for an individual caught with contraband (incl. cigs & khat) was to memorize one "juz" from the Noble Qur'an. A useful and enlightening punishment for such a crime. But, essentially, I think we have to separate the al-Itihad of Gedo and the one of today's Mogadishu/Lower Shabelle areas.
  8. What a tragedy. Allaha u naxaristo Marxuumta. I know some people on SOL who'll swear that "Muqdisho waa nabad." I guess after 15 years of anarchy, Reer Muqdisho (and some warlord supporters on SOL) have been conditioned into believing that the status quo of today is peaceful. A dead aid worker is not the proper way to sway others' opinions or change the truth on the ground.
  9. ^^ Rise up? I like neither Riyaale nor his politics. But I never asked anyone to "rise up" against his rule. I mean, after all, the guy won in a democratic election - and defeated (I say cheated) the SNM's best leader. You gotta respect that.. JUMA - I'm not sure I got your comment. Should I put on my primitive eyeware to understand you..?
  10. ^^ General, thanks for talking to him in the manner of the father-figure he dearly misses.
  11. Another case of a Black man (in this case, a Somali) sucking up to the White man. What's wrong with creating an Islamic state? In reference to these fake clan courts, it's no news that they've been allowed to make Mogadishu/Lower Shabelle their HQ. But all this talk of terrorism - what Somali is willing to blow himself up? Its all economics, and not extremism. They're simply profiting from the chaos and anarchy of southern Somalia.
  12. So, after you wasted time and effort on that long essay, you're essentially calling me a "village i-d-i-o-t?" A couple of things: This (SOL Forum) is an Internet medium where everyone says whatever the hell is on his/her mind. I didn't come here to size up myself against intellectuals, such as your Honorable self. Fact three is that if what I say annoys you, then file a complaint with the proper department and await my trail. Until then, keep the finger in your nose Cheers, mate.
  13. Al-Barakaat was an international company that had its feet into places at the same time: commerce and politics. But, because of its dirty politics, it failed miserably. Now, another one has sprouted and is playing the same kinda game. But HORN, remember when you had the post about the what happened to the Landers? I don't think there's much to debate about in that part of Somalia coz its officially been turned into Riyaale & UDUB monopoly. BESIDES, don't expect the Landers to do anything but play the clan card on you man, which is unfair and sucks!
  15. I wonder how many complaint threads about Dayniile.com the SOL Forum can sustain.
  16. ^^ What does our thinking have to do with what's going on in Ceelwaaq? We're just exchanging ideas because, at the end of the day, we all believe (at least I do) that we can agree to disagree, unlike the gun-wielding Somalis back home. Anyways, in respect to the argument, I'll let it slide.
  17. Haa. Muqdisho waa nabad. Why are they returning to Nairobi so quickly then? I could've saved them the time, money and effort before they left for Muqdisho by telling them that city ain't safe. But they'd rather listen to the apt leadership of war/druglords! Pathetic
  18. They wouldn't even be in Galkacyo had it not been for Col Yeey. Its the price you pay for that decision.
  19. HORN Sxb, you still managed to miss my point. I NEVER said Siyad Barre (alaha u naxaristo) - "the individual" - HANDED weapons over to USC. I said some members of his "family" gave over Somali army arsenal to USC. Ask Maslax M. S. Barre about his relationship with a fellow named Muridle Daylac. I'd rather not get into the details of their relations but essentially that's one man (Maslax) who unwittingly handed over weapons over the course of time to a man (Daylac) he thought was a fellow Somali and a friend. At one point, it was all Somalis against Siyad Barre and his sub-clan, that I concur with. Most Somalis were tired of the dictatorship, incl. "Northeasterners." But, its the USC who changed things into the annahilation of all members of the clan-family. I'm not disputing the fact that SNM, SSDF, USC, SPM were all against Barre and his sub-clan and therefore they worked together for the "overthrow of the government." How were they supposed to know that the USC worked for the "overthrow" and murder of an entire clan-family? Taas ma ku xisaabtamin and as soon as they found that out they were quick to turn their weapons against USC militias. Whether I "admit" something or not, the fact of the matter remains: Barre was failed by his closest relatives who, over time, were tricked or allowed the USC to loot weapons and keep them hidden for the eventual, fateful day. Whether or not the ranks of the Somali army were filled with USC loyalists doesn't really matter. Reer Gedo fled to Gedo because they thought it was all Somalis against them (which it was for a minute, then changed). When they fled, the rest of the weapons landed in USC hands. Yes or no?
  20. Originally posted by HornAfrique: quote: Disturbing though: towards the end, it was the Big Man's(Siyad Barre alaha u naxaristo) own family members who sold the keys to the armory to the USC and caused the collapse of the Somali nation. Wind_Talker it would be helpful if you could just elaborate more on this statement..SXB, I'll answer that question with another question. But first, let me break down the case. Siyad Barre (alaha u naxaristo) and the "ruling elite" are in power for over 21 years. Towards the end, there's a rebellion in the North, and all kinds of rebel movements shaking the south. Now, its common knowledge that - at least in the top tier of the military - Barre maintained a Gedo/Galgaduud monopoly (Let's see if you agree here). Therefore, he built a Republic and led it for 21 years and used the military as his backbone. He made sure his closest aides and military commanders were all in tuned with his policy and mission statement. bla bla Now, this is my question: HOW in the world did a MAJORITY of Somalia's military arsenal end up in the hands of the USC - and end up being used against the very people who built it and Barre empowered to protect it? First, let's see if you agree or not that the USC had most of the arsenal. Then, you can answer. I'll await your reply insha Allah.

An interesting point. The way I was raised is that I never ask anyone for anything. I work hard to earn mines, homie. You see, you're making an accusation that hasn't even HAPPENED yet. But I can make this: I didn't live off of Somali government welfare program based on "ina adeernimo" for 21 years. Disturbing though: towards the end, it was the Big Man's(Siyad Barre alaha u naxaristo) own family members who sold the keys to the armory to the USC and caused the collapse of the Somali nation. And you have the nerve to label the SNM as "sellouts." Does that make you proud or do you fancy stories of how the "traitorous" SSDF and SNM caused Somalia's downfall? You handed out the keys of doom - and you're now in bed with the guy who used to bring you water on donkey carts. Doesn't that just damage your pride? We'll keep it between us, I promise
  22. Originally posted by Somali_Patriot: the SNF warriors are coming. We aren't traitors like our fellow kinsmen from Galkacyo and above, who are willing to sell the Somali land and enslave the Somali citizens for a petty and meaningless doller. Noocaan oo kale ma noolaayeen? *shakes his head*
  23. Allaha u naxaristo dadkaan maalin kasta bilaa micno ku dhinta dagaal-beleedkaan. Somalis need to step up their efforts to helping put a stop to this meaningless war. I'm pretty sure the five dead Nabadoons didn't want a war this ugly to be waged in their name.

  25. ^^ Suffering from another attack of selective reading, I see! Of course self-criticism is healthy, especially on the part of the USC - one of the last groups in Somali political factions that hasn't mastered the art of 'the pen is mightier than the sword' yet. In fact, I think you haven't mastered it either, with all your boastful talk of how you and your super army will attack Garoowe! I seem to remember you saying something to that effect or am I mistaken? All in all, a good dose of self-criticism by webmasters of Dayniile.com - a well-known USC mouthpiece. Perhaps next week, they can focus on the mighty USC - and how it once dominated Somali territory and politics. Or maybe even profile the exciting career of a warlord! But I'm sure, JUMATATU, you of all people know all the gory details about the careers of the 'mujahids' you believe in so much.
