  4. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula held for violating probation Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is a Christian of Egyptian descent Continue reading the main story Related Stories Viewpoints: Anti-Islam film and self-censorship Judge rejects anti-Islam film ban A man linked to an anti-Islam video that sparked riots across the Muslim world has been held without bond after a hearing in Los Angeles, California. A judge said Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was a flight risk and cited a pattern of deception when making his ruling, Reuters news agency reported. Nakoula was investigated for violating probation terms after he was released from prison in 2011 for bank fraud. He has not been detained over the contents of the inflammatory video. Nakoula, a 55-year-old Christian originally from Egypt, allegedly produced the 14-minute trailer for the film Innocence of Muslims. He had been in hiding after the release of the video. After his 2010 conviction, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison and, under the terms of his probation, he was banned from using computers or accessing the internet for five years without an officer's permission. US Central District Chief Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal said: "the court has a lack of trust in this defendant at this time". Assistant Attorney Robert Dugdale said the court believed Nakoula was flight risk. "He has every incentive to disappear," he said. First amendment A clip from the US-made film was dubbed into Arabic, provoking widespread anger for its disrespectful portrayal of the Prophet Muhammad. The film was made on a very low budget, with insults and offensive inferences to the Prophet Mohammad and Islam crudely dubbed on afterwards. Earlier, the Obama administration had requested Google, the company that owns YouTube, to remove the clip. The technology firm refused, saying the film did not violate its rules. The clip was uploaded to YouTube in July, but violence broke out over the video on 11 September. The clip has not broken any laws in the US, where freedom of speech is enshrined in the constitution's first amendment. Four Americans, including US Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in an attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya earlier this month. Meanwhile, some of the actors in the video have come forward to say they were misled. They said had been hired to appear in a film called Desert Warriors, which did not mention Islam or the Prophet Muhammad in the script. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19753804
  5. Taleexi, 4.5 is not fair and I shouldn't be disqualified.
  6. Oba, bahasha sidaas ha u fogeyn. No elimination needed and no generalization. All Somali clans were victimized by what has happenned around the country over many years although not on the same scale, way or period. We need to work towards peace and stop blaming each other. If some are still not on the peace bandwagon right now they will join us soon insha Allah.
  7. First job was ......let me try to remember.......a teacher, unless gurmad is counted as a job?.....It was good altough I was little nervous. Current one? Farmer.....and it is gr8.
  8. Aaliyyah, ninkaan MMA ah wuuba ku sigay haddii habaryartaa oo aad isku egtihiin uu kugu khalday.
  9. haye Xiin bal warka na sii, name few people from the top of the list.
  10. I was told the list reaches about 50....I wish they could be asked to pay $10.000 and the money was added to the salaries for the Somali army or police.
  11. It is Tarzan who is saying this, I wouldn't beleive him until other sources confirm this. 14 roadblocks on a single area? This sounds impossible to me this time. Mogadishu had about 43 roadblocks during the period warlord used to rule, are we saying that there is even more than that number on a sigle road/one area, when there is a government in place? Tarzan is hab-hable and I would not just beleive this man. Wax walba wuu buunbuuniyaa although I am not saying that there is no Isbaaro.
  12. XX, ninkan waan kulannay muddo aan sidaa u fogeyn, siyaasaddiisana waan ka war hayaa...Han weyn ha iska jiro oo waa loo wada batay balse ma sii foga.
  13. lol@Cigaal. Xamarna isagoo jooga waad arki. Waa nin wanaagsan.
  14. They better quit this because they are embarrassing themselves again and again.
  15. lol@XX....Cigaal ma is garanaysaan? Weli Beijing miyuu joogaa?
  16. Yaab badanaa, waxaani tabloid cantarabaqash waa dhaafeen.
  17. They might be doing that but why are they all talking and pointing at the same time. Wayba wareeriyeen Abdiweli. I don't like marka qof inta qoorta dhegtaada ka soo rito uu isku dayo inuu wax kuu tilmaamo. Whatever happened to an eye contact.
  18. Warar xog-ogaal ah oo ku dhaw xafiiska madaxweynaha ayaa sheegay in Jagadaan loo magacaabayo nin Soomaali ah. Malla isku ciyaaraa?

  20. Taas waan gartay, balse siyaasadda Koofurta waad dhex dabaalanaysaa soo maahan?
  21. Loool, XX ayaantaan my brother is in Xamar-na waan kaa maqlayee, malaha some Northerners jagadan raadinaya oo Muqdisho jooga baad la haysaa, waayo si aan hore loo arag baad siyaasadda Koofurta u danaynaysaa this time:D
  22. I think this is a step forward. Some SOLer's expectations are too high, it shows how unaware they are about the situation on the ground. These people had no or few public toilets before, at least they do have some more now and hopefully we will see better ones being built in the future Insha Allah.
  23. Gabbal;873843 wrote: Abwaan- Maradi baa kaa dhacday awoowe. There are three things wrong with your statement: 1. The idea that a president (a monarch?) has the right to remove a private citizen from a city. 2. The idea that Farmaajo warrants such an intense response 3. The indescribable tribal element to this in a shattered, fractious, civil war torn country Awoowe, Hassan Sheekh is neither a "keligii taliye", nor does Farmaajo deserve the intensity of your feelings against him, and neither is this the bygone era where a man like Furux was the "owner" of national facility such as Mogadishu seaport. Gabbal, sidaad nin wanaagsan u tahay bay marmar naga wareertaa. I will say to you the same thing that I said to gooni, qabyaalada ha laga koro fadlan. I know I was a bit harsh when I said "eject Farmaajo from Mogadishu" but that has nothing to do with clan. It was more for the security. Why on earth is this guy different from the 100+ Somalis who have been after the top three Somali jobs? Why is he the one whose campaign, lives were lost, bad image was used and tabloid websites are hired? This guy is useless and I agree with Mooge, if president Hassan appoints him that is like shooting himself on the foot.
