Syria has become a free for all killing fields. When this thing first started, the anti Assad group were all united and had clear objectives. But now u got all kinds of factions, religious groups and others that just love violence. I have never heard of these Salafist,but I am sure killing kids wouldn't get em any sympathy. P.S. Doesn't this 'Kismaayo' fiasco thingy ever end? I'd like to see this thing go one way or the other, and not have to read about it here anymore. I've always had respect for Abdi Weli Gaas, even when he was a Prime Minister. During the last election, I was rooting for Sharif Sheikh Ahmed or Gaas as the next president. I was lil disappointed when neither men had won. The irony in all of this is, Gaas has spend most of his time here in the U.S before starting his political career in Somalia. While Sheikh Sharif has spend most of his political career in Somalia, and is now in the U.S. It's like they switched roles. I wish all the luck for Abdi Weli Gaas in his new endeavor in Somalia. And i would love to see Sheikh Sharif get back in politics again....just for good old times sake. Waa bilaa towfiiq.

I really do wish these new guy's are good cops, and not some of the cops who think just because they wear a badge and a gun that they can treat people anyway they want. Back when i lived in Fairfax, Virginia, there was this older Somali police officer that everyone hated. He'd treat and talk to you like you were nothing and just disrespect you. That was back in 2002, i hope he got fired for the way he talked to folks. There are a lot of Somali Deputies in Southern California, and i happen to know one of 'em.
