ElPunto;979170 wrote: Condemnation does not equal apology. Obama had condemned this - is he apologizing for it? Nope. And let's face it. Somalis are associated with a major and sensational terrorist attack. You gotta distance your community from it - and if it means apologizing so be it. It certainly isn't the time to be defensive. + 1.

I have close connection to Nairobi and Utanga, lived there for years after the civil war in Somalia, before coming to the U.S. I would say 60% of the Somalis in the U.S came through Nairobi, Kenya before coming to the U.S. So i would i always be grateful to the Kenyans for what they did for us. If they ever catch these Shabab kids who carried this out, they should be hanged from the tallest tree in the city and made example out of 'em. It's shame walahi.

I really do feel for the Somalis in Islii. I hope they make it through this ok. They are resilient bunch though, always coming through from all kinds 'Raaf' iyo colaad. Ilahay ha idin dhowro.

Robbing a blind man, Mr. Egal must feel real big and tough. Glad he's been caught.

Let 'em protest. At least they aren't in a position to cause any real harm. But it's really amazing how a group that always boasts about how strong, educated, numerous, powerful' they are, being reduced to protesting and disrupting TV interviews. Boy has the tables turned. I am actually starting to like to this. Hopefully they'd be more protests between now and 2016.

Nuune, how would they know the attackers are from 9 different countries, if they are still holed up with the hostages in the mall? I have seen some say they were Somalis, Arabs, Kenyan natives, etc. They should at least wait until they have ended this thing and do a thorough investigation. All this does is, fan the hatred and mistrust among communities.

When hostages are involved, and the captors are willing to kill 'em, than i dont see what the Kenyan forces could do at this point. If they go in with gun's blazing, those Al.Shabab people would easily kill all 30 people they are holding (and they have shown willingness to do it, if they killed 90+ people). Hopefully this would be a learning experience for them and they would know how to respond to situations like this in the future.

Man last time i was around that area, there was a 7/11 near the place. About 2 blocks 3 blocks where the shooting has happened, and there was a Somali guy who worked there. Hope everyone is safe. Sensei, did they close the Metro today? Washingtonpost isnt' reporting anything more than the shooting.

Nothing worse than killing an innocent child. HARRISBURG, Pa . - August 27, 2013 (WPVI) -- Police charged a central Pennsylvania man on Tuesday with killing a 7-month-old boy, and said he again declined to reveal the location of the child's body. Upper Darby Police filed the charges against Ummad Rushdi, a 30-year-old York man who was already in jail in the kidnapping of Hamza Ali from a home in the Philadelphia suburb three weeks ago. Officers reinterviewed the baby's mother, identified in court documents as Zainab Gaal, 30, who was born in Somalia and raised in Yemen, Chitwood said. Her parents live in Lewiston, Maine, he said. Ummad Rushdi, 30. Hope they give him the chair.
