I hadn't watched Match of the Day in weeks, and when I did turn on the television last night to watch highlights of the match I was reminded of how sub-standard it was. Even the appearances of ex-Arsenal players Ian Wright and Lee Dixon failed to add that needed unbiased opinion on the show. Ex-Brazil player Leonardo was the only saving grace – perhaps ironically, demonstrating to Adrian Chiles once again that foreigners are better than the English at their own game? Chiles was no doubt ecstatic about the West Ham result earlier in the day, vindication he felt, of how the English spirit had overcome the foreign invaders. Which is why he never criticised West Ham manager Alan Pardew for his over-zealous goal celebrations when the Hammers scored in the 89th-minute, condemning Arsenal to their second defeat of the league season. For goodness sake, even when Pardew apologised to manager Arsène Wenger in his post-match interview, admitting that he should have been professional enough to keep his distance away from the Arsenal manager, Chiles sarcastically commented, "Perhaps Pardew should apologise for Wenger's tactics as well?" Is Chiles mentally challenged? Alan Pardew had sought the high ground after an embarrassing moment and instead of acknowledging Pardew's mistake, Chiles had a swipe at Arsène Wenger. What exactly had the Arsenal manager done wrong in the unfortunate events on the touchline yesterday? I suppose Chiles was of the opinion that there was no need for Pardew to apologise, seeing as his celebrations were done in the British way? In the British spirit? Whatever happened to gentlemanly conduct on and off the pitch? Waving your fist in close proximity to an opposing manager is not going to win you an OBE (the last time I checked anyway). In fact, I so wanted Arsène Wenger to do a Brit and "lay one into 'em" that it was almost a shame that the fourth official had to get involved and restrain the foreign manager. After all, wouldn't it have been sensible for all of them to get involved? Possibly to protect Pardew himself, as he had already backed off, realising he had gone too far, when Wenger reacted and was advancing menacingly towards the rodent-like West Ham manager. Admittedly, there was a sense of regret and embarrassment yesterday when Wenger refused to shake Pardew's hand. It was childish on the Arsenal manager's part, and added strength to the claims that he is a bad loser. I remember Wenger once remarking: "Show me a good loser and I will show you a bad winner." I wouldn't have it any other way with Wenger, and trust him to bring us out of this slump. On a side note, it was even worse yesterday that we didn't take advantage of Chelsea's capitulation at White Hart Lane. Kudos to Spurs, they took the game to the champions and demonstrated to the rest of the Premiership that they are indeed vulnerable. No matter that Chelsea had hit the post in the dying seconds of the game, Spurs had enough chances to win the game. The main talking point on Match of the Day was John Terry's red card. It beggared belief to see Lee Dixon and Ian Wright, along with the incompetent Chiles, have a go at referee Graham Poll. Instead of looking at the big picture, Wright (of all people) said that Poll was wrong to send off Terry. What had the England captain done? Wright of all people should have known better, and once again it was left to a foreigner to educate the British pundits. Leonardo pointed out that it may not have been what Terry had done, but what he had said. Oh, to Wright's credit, he did notice that Terry didn't argue and promptly walked off the field of play. He knew that he committed an offence, but Wright chose instead to vilify the referee and highlight Terry's "professionalism". After his run-in's with a certain Manchester United goalkeeper in the past, Wright should think that it could have been a racial slur that had gotten Terry sent off, and the England captain looked to have regretted what he said after as well. It might also explain why it was the black Spurs players, mainly Chimbonda and D.Zokora, who were rounding up on Terry as he tried to walk away from the scene of the crime.

I doubt that both players intentionally harmed them. Sonko was looking a the ball when he challenged Cudicini. It wasn't the collision that did him, but how he fell to the floor. He looked just stone cold, didnt even move. I dnt know about the Cech one tho, that looked messed up. Looking at the source, you can't expect anything else to be said from chelsea.

Sam Allardyce is offering Chelsea some support, by giving them his leftover 'keepers. What a joke it would be if Jose decides to take Walker or Al-Habsi on loan. Anyway, Hilario is an experienced keeper and looks like he will be number 1 for most of the season. Cech is apparently out for 6 months minimum and Cudicini proably the same. Its a head injury so surgeons have to be very careful. They might not even play this season.

He doesn't even look like a somali. Forget whether he is somali or not, is he human? He looks plastic to me.

English players are a bunch of over rated weasels except for Gerrard. Look at Lampard, last year he was supposed to have come second to Ronaldinho and ahead of Gerrard at the Fifa Awards ( or Uefa). He looks completely average now, can't even shoot anymore. Another example, Carrick, 18 mill? Are you kidding me? Brothers, I would not have paid a 5 mill for this sucker. Thats what happens if you go to Spurs. The person I do feel sorry for is Darren Bent, that boy has pace, something England need. He is the only player, with Defoe, that can get in behind the defence. Isay get rid of Crouch and play Bent alongside Rooney. Rooney is a good player, he just needs some more games to gain full fitness.

Northener, you probably know more about chelsea than this yankee!

Great goal, esp. the way he fools the keeper at the end.

Winger, WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!! WITHOUT HENRY!!!! WITHOUT HENRY???? ONE MAN TEAM???? No!! Here's a song that I made up: Jingle bells, Chelsea smells Liverpool ran away, Man U tried and Man u cried, 'Coz Arsenal Won the game!!!! Hey!!!!
-
Bob how you doing brother. We all know his club career is going to go downhill from now, like everyone thats has left Arsenal has. To name a few players, Marc Overmars, Nico Anelka, Petit, Vieira, maybe Van Bronckhorst.

Nice win for the gunners, hopefully back on track. Did anyone see that Rosicky cracker of a goal! That will definitly be the best goal of the whole tournament. Bring on Grand Slam Sunday. Chelsea V Liverpool and Arsenal V Man Utd. This is why you watch football and why I have Sky sports in my Sky package.

Urban, I'm mad about that game especially 2005 version, I remember finishing 1 whole season in 2 days, Saturday and Sunday! Fm 2006 aint all that tho, Im waiting for the 2007 and get that 1.

Hizb, Vieira and Henry were of the most loyal players a club has ever seen and both have captained Arsenal. They didn't go and sleep with the enemy, do you epext to be respected and be kept around and looked after if u do that?

One must wonder at the mental health of one Ashley Cole, former Arsenal left-back and fans' favourite. The little back-stabbing twerp has begun serialising bits of his official biography in the English tabloids, and they are sensational if nothing else. In fact, so much of it sounds like complete and utter rubbish that one has to wonder just how deluded Cole is. In his latest instalment, Cole claims that he was "left betrayed by Arsenal", and that was when he realised he had to leave the club. Cole said: "I feel betrayed and let down by a club I've given my heart and soul to. For me it was one person at the club doubting my loyalty. And it was the final straw. "I'd had a vice-chairman and board who had thrown my loyalty back in my face ... My love for Arsenal was soured." Excuse me? Weren't you the one you went to meet (against Premier League regulations) rival club officials (their manager and their CEO at that!) behind Arsenal's back in an attempt to garner a transfer to Stamford Bridge? Arsenal betrayed you? They should have let you move across London that season itself, because you were not fit to wear the red and white of the club. Or let you rot in the reserves. How can you claim to have any loyalty to the club when you've been holding the club to ransom, done nothing in the last 18 months to demonstrate your loyalty and love of the club? Especially when you claim that the fans turned their back on you by not chanting your name when they were chanting Thierry Henry's. WHY would we be cheering the name of someone who knifed the club in the back, went to meet one of our bitter rivals in an attempt to hold the board to ransom, and done f*ck all for us that season except try to stay fit for the World Cup? In fact, I think at any other club, you would have been booed and hissed off the pitch. No, not Arsenal fans. Like the club maintaining a dignified silence over your disgusting attitude and hypocrisy, us Arsenal fans know how to appreciate loyalty, and rightfully cheered on the man who has displayed nothing but. It's right you felt unloved, and unwanted. That's exactly how we wanted you to feel, no matter how good you were or how we thought of you as "one of us". Instead of moving on at your new club (I must say, you deserve one another), you've chosen to continue to attack Arsenal and have even questioned the lack of appreciation from Arsenal fans. Can you not see past your blue-tinted glasses? You fit right in at Chelsea - lack of class, tact and elegance on and off the pitch. A bitter and sour individual, completely oblivious to your own wrongdoings. What are you expecting to gain from all of this? An apology from Arsenal? Letters of appreciation from Arsenal fans? Don't hold your breath, Ashley.

I wasn't going to do it but here it go, I'll put a team up no-one can argue with. GK-Buffon CB-Terry CB-Toure LB-Zambrotta RB-Lahm CM-Makelele CM-Riquelme CM-Pirlo RW-Kaka LW-Ronaldinho FC-Henry
-
They are both on season long loan deals and have 20 million buy outclauses with Man U having first option on Mascherano.
-
The hardest group has to be arsenal. The group is full of second seed teams. Hamburg who are buying left right and centre. Porto are Porto, CSKA, well the weather alone will kill their, they dont even need to play.

^^lol

^^^Talk about being biased? I'm a dutch fan but everyone knows van der sar is beaten easily by Buffon. And Heinze? What can u say, dude barely played last season and he is better than Abidal and Zambrotta? Its amazing how all of you included Theirry Henry in your teams.
-
You got a point, theres just stuff we hear about how greta they are let us see how good they really are. Tevez does look like a strong player tho.
-
Winger, nice start but can u last the race? Arsenal, Arsenal, what can I say? Lets just wait for the next game. Soma, why dont you have a word with your russian partner in crime and tell him to offer the damn 25 mill we all know he has and gallas so that we can get rid of that ****** little brat called Cashley Colemoney. Reyes to Real Madrid, Baptista to Arsenal. Apparently Wenger is in Germany God knows why, probably watching the U-11s tournament. Tevez and Mascherano to West Ham, are you kidding me? Am I dreaming this?
-
Tell me about it, i was shocked man. That agency MSI that owns them happens to be co-owned by Abramovich so no doubt they will make their way to chelsea in the near future. Here's me thinking their in London to sign for Arsenal, who was I kidding? Reyes is leaving for Real Madrid for the fee of 2 mill and Baptista included. I'm just glad this poor chap has gone back, he was way to soft and cowardly for the premiership but Baptista aka The beast looks like a perfect premiership player, I just wonder where he will play?

The league is startin tomorrow people, apologies, i was stuck in the middle of nowhere for 3 weeks but im back now.
