  1. ^Haha. Sounds like a vast right wing conspiracy that you have there. With naive innocents slaughtered at the media altar. You're just being defensive.
  2. ^You tell em JB. First the rice that everyone says is not possible and soon after recognition!
  3. ^Anything and everything! So what conclusion did the discussion participants come to?
  4. ^You can have a go at their estupidity in putting themselves out there for people to criticize. You can also have a go at them for milking the system to its maximum even though the system allows for it. You could also have a go at them for not working to support themselves given there are opportunities for work and their long residence in the UK. Whether they're good parents or have intergrity is neither here nor there.
  5. ^To be quite honest - sheer ignorance doesn't bother me that much. It's quite common all around now especially Europe. What bothers me are all the apologists and those who pretend that this means nothing.
  6. ^You can't see it or choose not to see it?
  7. ^Exactly. AD is putting on a power play. They want choice assets for bailing out Dubai like a stake in Emirates airlines and other profitable enterprises. No more freebies.
  8. Damn! And I thought all those UK folks lived in small, very old houses with poor plumbing.

I was part of a discussion yesterday with regards to planting tea in the Somali highlands. That sounded more reasonable. Pray tell - what do you really know about planting tea?

I recently found this cool site that lists private properties that you can rent around the world --- if you don't like hotels and doing the touristy stuff. It features regular houses, apartments, cabins, beach properties, villas, etc. It lists everything you could possibly want to know about each property, the prices, and pictures. It also has a link to email the owner if you have further questions or want to negotiate. Vacation Rentals by Owner I've always wanted to swim at the beach, but obviously couldn't. However, I've found a lot of properties with private beaches That's something to think about. Anyway, this site is good if you're going as a family or group of friends. I'm currently drooling over this place: Tanzania Those prices are steep. Can't believe prices in Africa are that expensive. As an alternative - you could try a home swap. Places like Home Exchange give you the ability to exchange with someone in any part of the world you desire. The only issue is actually negotiating your swap.
  11. ^Adeer ha igu xadgudbin. I'm taking numbers and deriving as accurate an analysis as possible from them. And I let the chips lie where they may. 'My tuulo' has nothing to do with it. Originally posted by Mintid Farayar: OK, so what exactly is your position-statement on this? You keep dancing around the issue with "faulty" and "Shallow" analysis accusations but what do you believe?? Let's put it into writing since we're both referring to the same numbers. I'll tell you clearly what I'm claiming - Berbera, under the conditions of no Saudi livestock embargo - was and will remain the premier livestock exportation port for the former Somalia. Are you, for the record, disagreeing with that? My claim is- the years 2001-2008 were an anamoly due to market conditions in which more than 90% of the demand disappeared. Try to keep the emotion in check, though... After all this time - you basically didn't understand. So it's comprehension problems that is the cause of all this. I will try once again. 1. Prior to 2001 Berbera was the leading port in the north. There was never a dispute about that. 2. Unless you have a crystal ball - you can't know whether it 'will remain the premier port' in the future on the basis of livestock exports. As I said time will tell. This is neither agreement nor disagreement - it is let's wait for the data to come in. 3. The years 2001-2008 were not an 'anomaly'. The markets simply changed. Berbera should still have led in livestock exports during the time. See my original analysis above for an explanation as to why(if you can comprehend it ). 4. 90% of the demand didn't disappear. You keep making up stuff that is not supported by the data. If you add up total livestock exports from both ports prior to 2001 and compare them to total livestock exports from the period 2001-2008 - the latter number is not 10% of the former number. The demand didn't disappear - it went elsewhere for the most part. This is about as simple as I can make it. This is it buddy. I'm not going to waste any more of my lunch time(or any other time) on someone who keeps refering to me as 'young lady'.
  12. ^I thought you decided to back off your 'emotional' charge since you couldn't prove it. Is it back again? In an analysis if you misrepresent what the numbers do, could and will tell us - I have the prerogative to question such an analysis. Rather than providing an adequate response(or simply keeping quiet) you engage in stunts. And then you have the gall of telling me I have an emotional attachment.
  13. ^Projection? Really? I am a novice but unless he's one of the items on the list up there he is a novice too. So no call to throw that up in my face. That's what you would call putting on airs. Or maybe you could look it up for yourself As to the rest of what you have there - can't make heads or tails about it. But at least you're not foaming at the mouth.
  14. ^I agree with the point you're making. But there is a fine distinction. These 'kids' are to blame for their actions. But they likely wouldn't have acted this way if they had good parents. It's the difference between the positive potential a kid with good parents has and the sad reality of a kid with indifferent/bad parents. Just be careful about blaming the parents.
  15. ^Young lady? Now you're just being an a$$. I would call you a young lady but that would be demeaning to them There are 2 separate issues here. The export business at both ports during the period of the ban and the export business going forward. I've exposed the shallowness of your analysis regarding the first issue. And I have received nothing to counter that. On the second issue - I said in time we will all know which port has grabbed the new business since the lifting of the ban. To actually point to a trend you have to have the luxury of time not one week's worth of data. I guess this settles it.
  16. ^I'm tempted to say down with Algeria purely as a contrarian response to your frenzied support for the team. But I really can't since I'm not a supporter of the Eyptian team. Cue the riots in Cairo now.
  17. ^I categorically reject this claim about their parents being to blame. At some point regardless of how bad your parents are - you have to take sole responsibility for your actions. If at 15 - each individual is solely accountable to Allah for his/her worldly actions - why do we insist these 'kids' parents are to blame for their actions?
  18. ^As I stated the holes in your analysis of the period of the ban still stand. What you have written above does not counter that. I still fail to see how I responded emotionally. I certainly did not deny that Berbera is a deepwater port or that being a deepwater port is a competitive advantage. Perhaps it's better for you to make a strategic withdrawal on that charge As to the report - I certainly have no qualms with it but I'm certainly not disputing the facts therein just pointing out the flaws of your analysis.
  19. ^I'd love for you to specifically point out to me where I got emotional. At this point - it's too early to tell - to arrive at any reasonable conclusions one needs to wait until a full year has passed from the lifting of the ban. Then we'll compare notes. But the holes in your analysis regarding the period of the ban still stand.

With a CPA, you can be the boss. Without it, you will just end up doing journals and auditing. Auditing is tedious and tiresome but that is not all CPAs do. The CPA designation has pass rates of 50% according to this. I'm familiar with CA designation in Canada and the pass rate is 60%. It is not that rare. I would advise you to get a recognized designation and then you can work anywhere in the world.
  23. ^As a start, I think you have to agree that a minimum level of knowledge is needed before applying Sharia. I don't believe that the wild teenagers have that. Do you?
