Salam All, Although I am elated by the triumph of humble man and his rise to the most highly revered position in our plighted country, I am little hesitant to come out ululating with guns blazing in celebration of his coronation- note I said coronation not election!. My trepidations dear reader, are purely based on political observations- one that I hope will prove to be false. Let me elucidate what I mean. You see, Sharif, though he shares ‘youthfulness’ with The other young leader, and behind him is the wind of change, our president is no Obama. The gulf between the two men is so vast it will be redundant to even entertain listing it- forget about the difference between the two countries they lead. Without further muddying the waters as it were, let it be known that Sophist is bayna Qawf wa Raja and wishes for Sharif, our president, a good fortune. Waqtigu waa macalin aan caadi aheyn! Alahayoow umada ugargaar.

My Garad and dear chum is a man of great intellect and honour but I am tiny bit disappointed with him. He should have heeded our council long ago- before the election and when the people of Puntland as whole had the appetite for change. It is almost giving a gift and when the guest has departed; having said that, Garad Jama understands the importance of Puntland within his people. He is one of the most revered Insim in the house of Isams in Puntland. Kicked the ball too late, say I.

Capitalism without bankcrupcy is like Judiasim without hell. Let all these weakling corps fail, say I.

Very generous indeed!. One hopes with intense apprehension about what is about to unfold in our mother country. The gathering clouds are ominous old chap, the real challenge awaits those who had taken upon themselves the burden of the nation. Will the real Sheikh Sharif stand up?

Mogadishu, sadly the city that will never be. I have both fond and morbidly horrid memories. In my formative years in Dugsi Quraan, it was the most enchanting time of my whole life- of course one continuously hopes to recapture/recreate those ephemeral moments of careless ciyaalmo without much luck. Damned are those who robbed us our childhood not to mention memories of that delightful age. Fond memories? Too long to list. PS: I have noticed all the memories are associated with all well to do activities; Abay Dhaxan, Aran Hamburger (btw not Aran Burger), Xaraf etc. SOL is the place of the old Somali middle classes haye?
