Moi. I voted mostly democratic and Independants, thought I think that people voting independants made sure Pawlenty stayed in office. Wish there was a way to take that decision back

Funny his arrest was in august and there was no mention in the media? How does that happen to someone who authored such well known books?

I was watching cnn where these two military guys were being interviewed about their "rap video". I can't tell if they r bored or downplaying the fact that the military is losing people in Iraq each day. Lazy Ramadi

Webb got it. Senate goes to Democrats and so does the house. Lets see what they gonna do now Rummy is gone but I think it was a horrible decision to wait till after elections. Bush could have used it as leverage to get more republican votes for those close races i.e Virginia.

Originally posted by General Duke: House is gone, now we wait for Senate. Congrats to the brother, a historic moment indeed. Are you sad about that? I personally think we need to get away from partisan lines. I had a few Independants on my ballot and their take on the issues were just on my side of the tracks. How about the first woman speaker, Nancy Pelosi? What was the deal with Harold Ford? I thought for sure he would sweep Tennessee In Texas, Democrats might grab the Delay seat. Watch how the presidential hopefuls are posturing when giving their acceptance speech.

1 more seat to retain it. 3 undecided. I am still waiting on the governers race. I hope Pawlenty gets kicked out. I can't afford this high tuition rate

Anyone in here know anything about POS register for rest. Drop a link or suggestion please for those who work in the industry or have seen what POS others use. If at all possible suggest a POS that can track what sells, who sells, interfaces with the kitchen, do add on to the check, print a report at the end of the night and off course has a way of charging a credit card. Thanks I can't figure out the technological mumbo jumbo online.

^^^^I know ya akhi. I was knocking him personally not his book Have you read Hadji Murad ? I have to read it this weekend and I am pensive. I was told I won't be able to keep from highlighting the text because his fiction transcends time and you can apply it to current affairs.

Leo Tolstoy was a pedophile who needed a woman to sit him down in order to write his masterpieces. That he went crazy at the end of his life to the point of dying in a station begs the question if his philosophizing twisted his brain. War and Peace is a good book, if only I can get past those darn french parts. Has anyone read Lost Boys and the The God Delusion . Just interested in the reviews before I go out and get me a copy.

A year or so ago, I got engaged in a discussion in this forum regarding the link between exposure of flesh and rape. This is a debate that will forever be heated and polarized. Today I propose to add another dimension into this debate. A dimension that many of us are exposed to on a daily basis and worse still don't acknowledge the impact it has. I am speaking about Advertisements. In the ad world a women is forever seen as an object, one to be seen and not heard, one whose will is not her own to control, one whose problems could be turned into the "in" thing. Women are infantilized, sex is trivilized, teenagers are hypersexualized, all this leads to a creation of a world that a woman is more likely to be raped or beaten. A woman is dehumanized to the point that you are not seen a factor in this world but merely a contributor to the man's world.A woman is placed in a box and therein she will lie. Take a moment during your daily tasks and actually understand the messages behind the ads. Maybe then a dialogue will spring as to how to bring about a change. Here are some images that depict some of the issues I broached. The aggression is male attribute and the woman can't do diddly squat about it. The bruised look is in, hit me again baby  She doesn't really mean it when she says NO! Lesson #6: If he resists, practice hypnosis Be so skinny the air will pick you up

Are you peddling something Mr Socod_badne? Or do you get your jollies from being snotty Ps:- I am asking cause I would like to put you in a box and prefferably lock and throw it in the ocean.

If Bears take it this year, maybe chitown will be a double threat in the sports arena. Bulls are looking like a great contender in the East. Ewww @ baseball. I don't know how you can watch that game. It takes forever to finish and for real I think people go to watch it @ the stadium to play hooky from school/work and drink beer. Back to NFL! I think you need to take back that comment on Colts. I personally don't like them but you got to give credit where credit is due. Tony D is a formidable coach and offensively he has Manning and there isn't a better guy out there to be on that playing field come clutch time. I wouldn't discount them yet in taking it all this year.

^^ Colts are back to 7-0. Ocho cinco delivered but it wasn't enough to beat Vick, who I got to say is learning to look down the field when he is being blitz. Eagles are down to 4-4. They couldn't have played worse even if they tried. Where is the bus?? Ben of Steelers Pitts needs to be benched. I did not think the steelers deserved to win last year and they are proving me right.

Death is entertainment. Noticed how many horror movies people watch, what about the hunters and shooting animals for pleasure. Val, don't you think a documentary like that has a use? Even if its to bring the debate on suicide to the public front.

Whether you like to admit it or not attack ads work and that is why they are utilized. With most americans unaware of what the candidates propose it is easier to use the TV to badmouth your opponent. In MN alone over 1.6 million dollars were set aside (for TV ads) for these last few days before the midterms. Thats a lot of dinero of something that doesn't get your message across or does it? As for your prediction, I don't know what the republicans will pull out of their hat. This week alone Bush tried to low profile his signing of the immigration bill because his squaking of guest worker program was unapproved by the house. Most of the campaign trails are geared around the Iraq war. So if there is anything that is going to change this election it would have to come from Iraq. Iraq leader said US needs to quit using the withdrawal timetable as a political tool. I agree! Lets focus on the issues i.e minimum wage, tuition assitance, civil liberties being curtailed, budget deficit.

Women who give their breast milk to sick and orphaned children in Africa. ......When the children first come to the orphanage, they are so sick and malnourished they can barely cry, according to the caregivers. Once they are fed, they thrive on the breast milk, and within a few weeks, they are full of life. They gain weight almost immediately and don't get sick as often when they're drinking the breast milk. The challenge, caregivers say, is to keep up with the demands of these hungry babies. But they get some help from unexpected sources. They recently received a phone call from a prospective donor thousands of miles away. In Columbia, Mo., Jill Youse read about the IThemba Lethu orphanage on the Internet while she was breast-feeding her 10-month-old daughter, Estella."For children who are sick, especially if they have HIV or other diseases, breast milk could be the difference between life and death," Youse said. She decided to get involved and found other breast-feeding mothers in her town who were also interested in helping the South African babies. Youse soon collected 24 gallons of frozen breast milk. To transport the milk to South Africa, Youse contacted express carrier DHL, which agreed to ship the donation to South Africa free of charge. Two days later, a fresh supply of breast milk arrived at the orphanage, where there was no shortage of helpful hands to do the unpacking. The contributions from the United States — which appear to be growing — will ensure a strong supply line.It won't replace the mothers they lost, but it will give them something every child needs — a mother's love. Excerpt from ABC Jill Youse: Donor #1, Founder & Executive Director When I first realized that I had a freezer full of breast milk and nothing to do with it, I became hell-bent on finding a way to donate it to the children in South Africa. Most people laughed at first, thinking that I was kidding when I would say,"I have enough milk to feed babies in South Africa." Little did they know that there are so many moms out there like me who don't know what to do with their extra milk. Until you have sat behind one of those pumps for an hour to squeeze out every last ounce, you just can't appreciate the emotional pain a mom would go through to watch her milk go down the drain. I decided to develop the International Breast Milk Project to help moms find a home for their milk with the babies who are in desperate need of it. The project is still in its infancy with about 9 months under its belt and 2 successful shipments to South Africa. Who knows what the future will "deliver." Please feel free to contact me at jill@breastmilkproject.org with any time with your comments and suggestions. It is the moms who make this happen, I just started the ball rolling. Read more about the International Breast Milk Project I think this is a great initiative on Jill's side and the lady who opened the orphanage. I think ABC did a booboo though, Jill is a MN resident not a MO resident.

What really happens in the last moments before a person decides to end their life? Eric Steel chose to train two cameras on the golden gate bridge to watch people jump to their death. Though not an original thought, a previous doc called jumpers was the vanguard, Eric trained his camera on the most popular suicide site in the world. The camera crew had "guidelines" to call the authorities if they thought anyone was attempting to jump. Even so, there are plenty of footage in the doc of people jumping to death. To compliment the footage of the deaths, there are interviews of friends and relatives of the would be suiciders or the suiciders themselves. Again the media decides to highlight a problem but at what cost? Would you watch such a film and why? Is there something in humans that is inherently sadistic that compels us to go for such images?

^^^Not unless you have managed to nab tickets to her show before arriving in Chi town. Boston is a wonderful place but may I state that driving to NYC might give you a headache and a half, unless you have a house to be parking your car @ . Take the subway or walk while in NYC. Do the city tour buses they don't cost much and you see the most important sights. If anything you will have a basic layout of where you want to spend the most time come the next day. PS:- Lmao on the color coordination. My friend always says that abt MN people. Its all good you kinda get used to the flashy colors and mismatched outfits

^^^Not gonna happen. America is not ready for a black president yet. Obama is dancing a nice jig though, I don't doubt he would be a contender down the wire but not enough to push for the presidency.

Patriotism at its worst shall I say. How many western eriterians who ran away from prosecution did you meet? How many people are not allowed to voice their opinions? What about the freedom of religion? I met the Eriterians who are patriotic and yet claim no injustice is being committed in their countries but more than that I have met Eriterians who have being terrorized by representatives of their government for critizing the system. Two sides to a coin indeed.

Naden there are many things he states in his lecture that I don't know much about. It prompted me not only to those questions but to actually start looking for the book he bases most of his lecture on. I definately have to listen to the lecture again since there are some points you mentioned that must have just whizzed by me as I drove whilst listening to the lecture. JB I don't know how to answer your question but I will try to. How dare I ask rational questions with a firm belief in the end of the world? I ask because I wish to base my belief in firm knowledge. There are different sources out there on this topic and perhaps not all of them are true. There is no black and white in my view of religion. I see a lot of gray areas and this falls within the grey area. Not that it won't come but that it will occur the way people keep predicting it to happen. Ps:- whats with the A's?

I had been up for thirty hours, twenty two minutes and fourty seven seconds. My eyes were itchy and red. I sat watching the ticker on my laptop, my eyes following the words as they made their way across the screen. Any minute now. It had been four hours since the discovery was made. Tick, tock went my clock. I glanced nervously over at the sun peeking over the horizon. I can't risk sticking out more than another hour. I had already compromised my position by logging on to the net. The screen blinked ALERT ALERT. I quickly scanned the coded headline on the ticker and smirked with satisfaction. Gathering my clothes in a laundry bag, I made my way to the bathroom to wipe off the surfaces, careful not to miss a spot. I placed my toiletries in a bucket and set them on fire with a slight dousing of lighter fluid. On cue the sprinklers and alarms erupted as the fire alarms kicked in. After dropping off the laundry bag in the housekeepers trolley, I joined the rest of the guests making their way out of the hotel. Pretty soon, I was lost in the crowd gathering outside. At the corner, I turned to have one quick look at the beginnings of a domino effect I had meticously set off. I would probably be six feet under in two weeks but at least the truth would be there for all to see. With that thought firmly in mind, I set off for my next target.
