Even the Brits are not certain of Somaliland's Attendance
Mintid Farayar replied to Mintid Farayar's topic in Politics
Carafaat;780691 wrote: Didnt Siilanyo go to the meeting that Riyaale refused back in 2010? Mintid, open your eyes and come join me, Siilanyo and your uncles Buuba, Jaamac Qaalib, Suldaan Abdiqadir on the bandwagon. Carafaat, Surely you jest. What have been the fates of these men in their own land (Somaliland) - exile, jailing at the first sighting within the airport, and more jailing. To consider Siilaanyo a Unionist, shows you're either extremely confused (as you yourself admitted in different threads, at least in the 'identity' department) or simply, another 'charlatan' once again posing as a Somalilander. There's no point being in Hargeisa if you're a Unionist. The environment is physically and mentally too hostile for it. For those of us who regular journey back home, it's a reality we're acutely aware of (and quite content with). -
Duke, Good to see you back. You haven't been quite the same ever since poor Adeer Abdullahi was shuffled out of Somalia to Yemeni refugeedom. You can jump on the back of the Khaatumo caravan or the London Caravan. Take your pick - Both have brought a small light of hope to some from your end...

JB, your joke was lost on the little pirate boys. Nimanyahow, the supporters of Khaatumo need your military support not your cheerleading from the sidelines.

Even the Brits are not certain of Somaliland's Attendance
Mintid Farayar replied to Mintid Farayar's topic in Politics
One of the amusing things re:SOL is the arrival of posters who's political awakening occurred only a year or two before. Therefore, they incredulously believe that the Somali political timeline began at the time of their discovery. Add in the seasonings of the daily stories they hear from the old ladies in their households (huddling from the freezing winter outside) who regale them with the mythical supremacy of their clan. Having said that, consider this: If Somaliland refused the invitation of the U.S. Congress to participate in a Congressional Hearing along with factions from the South on June 25,2009, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility that it might refuse this invitation. -
Even the Brits are not certain of Somaliland's Attendance

For the ill-informed: Siilaanyo is a politician at the end of the day. He will compare the benefits of attendance vs. the damage to his brand. He will feel out the barometer/political winds at home and after many late night consultations with different interest groups in Hargeisa, he will come to a decision. The final decision might surprise some... -
Shirka Soomaalida ee loogu qabanayo London oo lagu casuumay Puntland, Somaliland, Galmudug iyo Ahlusunna Jimco, Jannaayo 27, 2012 (HOL) − Shirka London loogu qabanayo Soomaalida ayaa la sheegay in lagu casuumay maamullada Somaliland, Puntland, Galmudug, Ahlusuna iyo weliba DKMG ah, iyadoo la sheegay in shirkaas uusan ahayn mid dib u heshiisiin ah balse uu yahay mid looga hadlayo xaaladda ammaan ee dalka. Ergayga Britain ee Soomaaliya, Matt Baugh ayaa sheegay in maamulladan ay ku casuumeen shirka, wuxuuse sheegay inuusan xaqiijin karin in Somaliland ay imaan doorto shirka iyo in kale, isagoo ugu baaqay dhammaan maamullada inay kasoo qaybgalaan. "Shirkan waxaa mid looga hadlayo sidii nabad Soomaaliya loogu heli lahaa kaddib sannado badan oo colaado ah," ayuu yiri Mr Baugh oo BBC-da u warramayay isagoo intaas ku daray in shirkan lagu casuumay sidoo kale dalalka daneeya arrimaha Soomaaliya. Waxaa sidoo kale, shirkan lagu casuumay sida uu ergaygu sheegay dhammaan saxiixayaashii Raodmap-ka, waxaana dowladda KMG ah uga qaybgalay madaxda sare sida Madaxweynaha, guddoomiyaha baarlamankaa iyo ra'iisul wasaaraha. "Qorshaha shirkan waa in caalamka la tuso dhibaatada ka jirta Soomaaliya gaar ahaan dhinaca ammaanka iyo sidii xal loogu heli lahaa. Sidoo kale arrimaha aan diiradda saarayno waxaa ka mid ah burcadbadeedda," ayuu Mr Baugh. Maamullada lagu casuumay shirkan ayaan ka hadlin, iyadoo Somaliland ay horay u sheegtay inay ka go'day Soomaaliya, balse caalamka kama aysan helin aqoonsi ku aaddan gooni-isku-taaggeeda. Ergayga Britain ee Soomaaliya ayaa booqday dhawaan Muqdisho iyo Hargeysa, halkaasoo uu kulammo kula yeeshay madaxda DKMG ah ee Soomaaliya iyo kuwa maamulka Somaliland. Voice of America reporting similar news while some on this forum continue to pedal the mirage.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Khamiis, 26 January 2012 Dagaal ka Dhacay Duleedka Buuhoodle Mohamed Abdi Sandheere | Washington, DC Dagaal u dhaxeeya ciidamada Somaliland iyo maleeshiyo deeggaanka ah ayaa galabta ka dhacay duleedka magaalad Buuhoodle. Lama oga khasaaraha rasmiga ah iyo sababta keentay in dagaalku qarxo, balse warar ayaa sheegaya in dagaalku bilwoday kaddib markii wafdi ka socda maamulka Khaatumo ee dhawaan lagu dhisay Taleex ay soo gaareen magaalada Buuhoodle. Dagaalkan oo bilowday 3-dii galabnimo xilliga Geeska Afrika ayaa waxaa la sheegayaa inuu dhaliyay dhimasho ku timid dhinacyada dagaallamay, waxaana jira dhaawac la gaadhsiiyay cusbitaalka magaalada Buuhoodle. http://www.voanews.com/somali/news/Dagaal-ka-Dhacay-magaalada-Buuhoodle-138136058.html

"The lack of actual loyalty to the Somaliland cause in the Khaatumo regions can be graphically illustrated by the failed attempt to apprehend the author and a member of the G62, the group that is behind the Khaatumo concept, on our way back from Taleh. The whole village of Yagoori where we stopped for the night stood up to the heavily armed militia deployed by the Somaliland administration from Las Anod to apprehend us and ship us to the infamous Mandhera prison. To preserver life and to avoid punitive retaliatory action by the Somaliland militia against the village, we decided to leave Yagoori on foot to areas outside the control of the militia, and we were eventually whisked to Galkayo in Puntland where we were welcomed with open arms. We traveled through hundreds of miles of unpaved roads and our 4X4 driver could only be compared to the best world class rally drivers for his dexterity at the wheel. Unfortunately a few other delegates were not as lucky and got arrested in Berbera on their way back to their adopted countries. One of these delegates is a British citizen who entered Somalia with his British passport. His only crime was to attend the Khaatumo Congress. The British Government that provides generous aid to the Somaliland enclave needs to take note of the way its citizens are being harassed and jailed without due process. As if the harassment of the Khaatumo delegates were not enough, the Somaliland Administration mobilized its meager resources to invade Buhodle, another Khaatumo city near the border with Ethiopia." http://www.wardheernews.com/Articles_12/Jan/Ali_Abdulla/25_The_Khaatumo_concept.html The S.O.S. has been sent but it's too painful for some to accept. In order to respond, one would have to abandon the mirage....

Who's version of events should we believe, Xiin? Your version concocted in the cold of the Minnesota cafes or the actual guy on the ground who attended the conference and then had to run barefoot across the border, just like Ali Khalif? I think these 'caravans' will be the death of you. All they bring are heartaches, high blood pressure, and a sense of growing irrelevence.

As attested to by another supporter of the Khaatumo concept, Ali H. Abdulla of Wardheer News, after participating in the Taleex gathering, Somaliland has been busy hunting down the participants as they attempt to leave the region. Here's a quatation from his latest posting on Wardheernews: The lack of actual loyalty to the Somaliland cause in the Khaatumo regions can be graphically illustrated by the failed attempt to apprehend the author and a member of the G62, the group that is behind the Khaatumo concept, on our way back from Taleh. I remember the amusing days of last year when Siilaanyo vis-a-vis Rayaale was going to be the saviour of a 'certain group' since according to their fortune-telling he(Siilaanyo) was a Unionist who was just waiting for an opportunity to rejoin them in the 'old Somalia'. My, my, how times have changed... But certain quarters are relegated to a destiny of always being on the wrong side of history!

Come on, Abtigiis. I give you far more credit than that. The defeated do not come back again and again for more. Look at how quite Puntland has been since Las Anod in 2007. The smoke will eventually clear and all will be clear in the end. In the meantime, let's pray for the dead and a speedy recovery for the wounded. As well as your eventual return to your cultural home...

Oh, the wailings of 'the defeated lot' as Oodweyne so cleverly penned it years ago.... The laughter gained from watching that corner is 'the gift that never stops giving'!

Abtigiis, Saaxiib, I was only going on what your exact words telegraph for all to see (which sometimes betray the wounds hiding under the skin). Now, let's return to the gist of your claim here re: the London Conference. Now if you're half as well informed as you say you are (the jury is still out on that), you would be more concerned about the dangers the conference presents to the sovereignty of Somalia proper than to Somaliland. For it certainly looks like Somalia (including Puntland) will be placed under stealth trusteeship. The West is fed up with the twin perils of piracy(Puntland) and terrorism(South-Central) emanating from Somalia. Given the lack of political and financial capital within the West for another adventure in another Muslim country, the project will be farmed out to the African states of the region. Whether present or not at the meeting, Somaliland stands the best chance of sidestepping this calamity, given its isolation from these globe-affecting twin problems (a la the first UNISOM/UNITAF where no troops where stationed within Somaliland). As much certain cliques try to make the issue of Somaliland and its statehood a central issue within this conference, the organizers have their own particular agenda irrespective of what Somalis from Somalia wish. Unfortunately, the days of asking Somalis of Somalia how to solve Somalia's problems are long gone...

Abtigiis;779994 wrote: It is where this hated frozen chrysalis state of clan grandiosity is to be broken, it is where the unilaternal maternal methapor of “Shankaroon State” will meet its end. It is where the refractory clan conceit will finally make a detour, compelled to move away from reliance upon white tutelage. Here we have the crux of the issue. It's precisely this insecurity that one is seen as superior and another as inferior that drives the mindless obsession with thwarting Somaliland's agenda by any means, even as far more existential problems afflict some in their own houses. All the empty rhetoric regarding a love of 'Somaliweyn' is simply a cover for this anxious insecurity. Abtigiis, it's time for you to drop this silly complex and come home to where you feel most comfortable. You're old enough to read between the lines...
