  9. Somaliland Forum SLF: MRGR: # 13 IMMEDIATE RELEASE 5/07/2007 RE: The SOPRI Goodwill Mission; The national leaders of Somaliland as well as the Somaliland public have for so long challenged the Diaspora to contribute constructively and meaningfully to the economic, political and social development of the country. More importantly, they commanded the Diaspora to play a greater role in diffusing the fraternal but sometimes destructive tension and rivalry that occur. The Good-Will Mission, under the auspices of Somaliland Policy and Research Institute (SOPRI), had undertaken this challenge on behalf of the Diaspora as mandated by the SOPRI conference held in Arlington, Virginia (USA) in September 2006. Somaliland Forum had not only endorsed this endeavor but had also collectively and individually participated and contributed to the success of the conference. Undoubtedly, we all had a stake in the success of this mission and there was no shortage of skeptics. But SOPRI proved the skeptics wrong by producing a comprehensive, clear and practical report that could bear fruit if implemented. The breadth and the depth of the report is also a testimony to the plethora of qualified experts among us and even though you down played its significance; it is a blueprint for future success. On this note, Somaliland Forum is congratulating the Good Will Mission (GWM) for producing a well balanced document that points to and addresses the weaknesses while providing practical recommendations. It is our hope that the report would be taken critical to Somaliland and be implemented for the good of the country. We once again call upon all Somaliland organizations to work together and support each other as we all aim for the same goal; the betterment and success of the Republic of Somaliland. Mohamed A. Ali Baranbaro Chairman, Somaliland Forum SOURCE

  13. A study was conducted recently to determine the average crime rate at international airports around the world. The study made use of an ordinary looking man standing in the airport terminal and reading a newspaper. He had an empty briefcase next to him, which he would ignore.Observers then recorded how long it took for the briefcase to be snatched: - In Brussels, Belgium the case was stolen within 4 minutes and 20 seconds. - In Washington DC it was stolen within 3 minutes and 16 seconds. - At Heathrow, London the briefcase was snatched in less than 2 minutes. - In New York, the case was stolen within 1 minute and 5 seconds. - In Los Angeles it took only 43 seconds before the case was snatched. - In Nairobi the team conducting the study was robbed on the way to the airport and the briefcase stolen along with their car!
  14. 1. She keeps looking over at you attempting to make eye contact. When you establish eye contact with her, she looks down. 2. She smiles at you. Although this may seem obvious, it's important to know the difference between a polite smile and a sincere more intimate smile. 3. She goes out of her way to get you to notice her. For example, if she was across the room when you first made eye contact with her and you notice she has moved in closer to you. 4. Plays with her hair. A Women's hair is a source of power and confidence to them. If you see her twirling her finger through it or throwing it around. 5. She initiates the conversation with you. Keep in mind that many other factors play a role here. How close she stands, what she says are key. Always look for other body language signals that confirm her actions. 6. She laughs at your jokes. Humor can be a very powerful tool in flirting. Having a lighthearted demeanor can expedite intimacy. 7. She asks if you like certain activities. This could be an attempt to establish some common ground and interests with the intention of establishing opportunities to see each other again. 8. She pays you a compliment. If she compliments you on your physique, look for other flirting signs that may accompany the compliment. This is a strong signal. 9. She makes sexual comments. Most times they will keep it understated and tasteful, so you should do the same. A crass slip-up is a sure-fire way to ruin the rapport. 10. She touches you. Where she touches you is key, If she touches your arm, that's less obvious. If they progress to your hand or knee, that's a much stronger sign.
