German Parliament Passed Resulation To Protect Somaliland Security The German Parliament passed a resolution today, inter alia "asking the German Federal Government to work towards mitigating dangers for Somaliland's stability that may arise from the current Southern Somali scenario". The parliament is asking the government "to examine whether initiatives to advance the resolution of the question of an international recognition of an independent Somaliland appear useful in the framework of a peace-advancing policy at this stage". Furthermore, the parliamentarians "demand that the government holds interim president Abdullahi Yussuf to account not to take any unilateral steps that relate to this question and which could provoke a deterioration of security in the the Republic of Somaliland". This is another little step towards recognition goal and if I may say a hard-won one. The German Parliament's document were written without the usual “” quatation marks before and after the Republic of Somaliland's name. halkan

ADDIS ABABA, June 16 (Reuters) - U.N. Security Council ambassadors landed in Ethiopia on Saturday pledging to help the African Union run peacekeeping missions in Sudan and Somalia. The 15 envoys arrived at AU headquarters in Addis Ababa on the first leg of a trip that will also take them to Sudan, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo. "We are here to have a good conversation with the AU about the situation in Africa, peacekeeping and strengthening the capacity of the AU to carry out peacekeeping and conflict prevention," U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad told reporters. The envoys then began closed-door talks with Alpha Omar Konare, chairman of the AU Commission. On Friday, an AU spokesman said the organisation would seek immediate financial and logistical support for its peacekeepers in Sudan's Darfur region and Somalia's capital Mogadishu. Lack of funds meant African troops deployed in Darfur had not been for three months at a time, the spokesman said, while African nations that had offered to send soldiers to support Somalia's interim government had so far been unable to do so. Top of the agenda for the ambassadors will be efforts to get a U.N.-AU peacekeeping force into Darfur, where some 200,000 people have died in four years of violence. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called Sudan's acceptance on Tuesday of a large force for Darfur "a milestone", but U.N. envoys acknowledge challenges on command structures and finding enough soldiers. The U.N.-AU force -- made up of 23,000 troops and police -- is not expected to be deployed until next year, when it would shore up a beleaguered AU force of 7,000 soldiers already there. On Somalia, the ambassadors are expected to hear appeals for funds for troops to reinforce 1,600 Ugandans patrolling in Mogadishu, where they have been targeted by Islamist insurgents battling the interim government. Also high on the agenda will be the border dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea, where U.N. peacekeepers are manning the frontier after a 1998-2000 war that killed some 70,000 people.

Mudane Siilaanyo oo kulan balaadhan la yeeshay beesha galbeedka Burco

I'm not a member of Udub and i don't want to be in the near future ,, i would rather be analyzing the politics and make sure to know who is capable of what ,,,,,, As said, let's forget and not talk about the 90's saga and incidents and focus on the current issues. Any how, Burco is now the political battle ground for all the three parties ,,,,, Kulmiye is doing a little progress but Udub won't let it go that easily as heavy delegation is already there ,,,,,,,,,, Let's see who is winning in that ground. As for Qaran, it is for the public to elect them but Dr. Gaboose doesn't have that political popularity in Somaliland ,,, the majority want him to be a doctor and not a politician but he is insisting ,,,,,,,,, there are rumours that he will join KUlmiye soon but let's see if it is true or not. I don't directly support UDUB but according to my observations they are the best for the moment coz of their political structure and the political figures ,,, but they will be even more better if they change the Vice President who is still in my useless list. -

London (QARAN)- Weriye Cabdisalaan Ibraahim Hereri oo ka mid ah weriyaasha ugu caansan ee Laanta Afka Soomaaliga ee Idaacadda BBC-da, ayaa caddeeyey in uu iska casilay shaqadii uu ka hayey BBC-da, iyadoo la filayo inuu u wareego idaacadda Maraykanka ee Voice of America oo dhawrkii bilood ee u dambeeyay ku soo biirtay idaacadaha caalamiga ah ee ku hadla Af-soomaaliga. Haddaba, si aannu arrintaa wax uga ogaano ayaa wargeyska Jamhuuriya wax ka weydiiyay weriye Cabdisalaan Hereri, Cabdisalaana waxa uu noo xaqiijiyey in uu iska casilay shaqadii uu ka hayay laanta afka Soomaaliga ee idaacadda BBC-da. Jacaylbaro replied to QabiilDiid's topic in Politics
Munira, i never talked about his comments and speeches ,,, i'm talking about him and the country. If he wants somaliland to go to the border by FORCE that is his agenda and it is for the public to either elect him for this or refuse. and they refused. We should understand that any politician has his own agenda ,,, it can be logic and it can be totally crazy and impossible. Faysal is free to think and he is free to believe. But we did not choose his views and for the moment it is up to him. Concerning Sool and Sanaag bari, we have our own agenda and it is how we deal the area now. -

when you said he took part in the civil war i thought he was in command or he was in the front line fighting ,,,,,, now you come to tell me he didn't say colka joojiya ? Ok ,, i didn't know if he said that or not but i know this guy doesn't have a good relationship with the west of Burao coz of some clannish issue that has been going on since my grand-grandfather was born ,,,,,, and i know so many stories even after that war. If you know the history of SNM then you know where all these are coming from ,,,, actually it is a long story that has nothing to do with the current affairs sxb. He lost the last elections coz he didn't have enough voters among west-Burco societies and that is why he wants to concentrate this time. -

First, Faysal has his own views as everybody else sxb ,,,, he is a politician and you can see some weird politicians everywhere in the world and he is simply one of them ,,,,,,,,,,, Second, He did not win any elections and it is not likely for him to win any in the near future, this means his views are not welcomed in somaliland and the majority don't agree with him. Third, The finnish gov has nothing to do with this issue as he is a somaliland politician and is free to have his own ideas. No one can tell anybody not to have that idea and take this one ,,, we are a free country sxb. Fourth, Faysal did not kill anyone and he was not a military general who bombed towns and demolished cities ,,, he is not a murderer of thousands of innocent people. He is simply stating his views and after all it is all about talking and making speeches. I HOPE YOU GOT MY POINTS ,,,,,,,,,, -

A herd of about 40 horses and another herd of about 12 camels came in to water while we were in Tallex. I made a total *** of myself by jumping on one of the horses to proove my cowboy background and promptly got shoved off and to the ground by the owner hahahahaha Thanks for posting this Grant ........ nice reading indeed.

My group had been preceeded by one other. One of the girls from this group had married a Somali, and her aqal was pointed out to us. It was said that she had red hair and that that was very attractive to Somali men, but we never saw her. I had rocks thrown at me in the Qaat market, but luckily was saved by two police officers, who were Somalis, but seemed very British. The people in the North, almost uniformly, wore clothing that looked like it had once been white. It was a non-descript color, a light sort of brownish gray. I don't remember any color in Hargeisa except this, and the stark white of white wash on the buildings. The land south and east of Hargeisa soon becomes quite flat. There is no horizon and very little to use for landmarks. I never saw a road or a rut, rarely even a track where another vehicle had gone before. On this trip, even our local drivers got lost twice and had to backtrack. In the North, volunteers traveled amost exclusively on the tops of loads on "trade trucks", good-sized Mercedes lorries that carried goods to the various towns. On this trip we had at least two such trucks, at least one of which was empty this trip, plus we were joined by several police officers in a Land Rover. Including drivers and quides and two geeljiire who had herds at Tallex that first night, I think there were a total of about 28 people in the group.

Somaliland airlines can be created but it will take such long time to buy planes and come to operation ............. training pilots, buying planes and setting the routes are long term strategy. A government cannot hire planes dee ,,,,, that is shameful
