A few weeks later she remarried, And over the following years has another 22 children with her second husband .....After the last child is born hersecond husband also dies...... Within a month Maria is engaged to be married for the third time Unfortunately, she becomes very ill and dies. At her funeral The priest looks tenderly at Maria as she lies in her coffin, he looks up to heaven and says: "At last they are finally together". A man standing next to the priest asks, "Excuse me, Father, but do you mean Maria and her first husband, or Maria and her second husband?" The priest replied "I mean her legs".
  9. I think only a member of the Al-Shabaab can answer your questions All what we can give you are observations of the current issues in somalia and in the region. As far as i know, Al-Shabaab figures were part of the late Al-Ittihad movement specially the military wing of the movement. Some of them were trained in Afghanistan and they came back with this Al-Qaeda idealogy and soon started to apply to Al-Ittihad. But since the movement is composed of aged men and some old Sheikhs the new modifications were not agreed on. This resulted the differagmation of the Ittihad ,,, and many of the military wing insisted they should create a Al-Qaeda style movement so that they could start Jihad against the kufaars and those warlords and rule with the Shariah. Since early 90s they had different military camps in Somalia and even in Somaliland. They trained a lot and they contributed to the Jihad in Somali galbeed. Many of the key figures died in that region fighting against Tigree. Now, the Al-shabaab is not well-known. Their structure is very complicated and their true leaders are extremely secret. Some of their key figures are: Hassan Turki ( a former Somali military commander joined Al-Ittihad - Sent and trained in Afghanistan) Adan Hashi Eyro (A young man who joined the Al-Itihad during the 90s, trained in Somalia, Somali galbeed and lately in Afghanistan). Ibrahim H Jama (A Canada resident joined the Afghan Mujahideen during the war against the soviet then took part of the creation of the first Somali Islamists military camps in the south.) Ahmed Abdi Godane (Lived and studied in Pakistan then joined the Al-Qaedah camps in Afghanistan. Well trained, Masters in Business and highly quilified in the Islamic studies.) Sh. Aweys is not a direct member of the group but it seems he is the general spritual leader. He is mainly active in the politics but he is not a direct leader of the al-shabaab. Some of them like Turki and Ayro is difficult to agree with specially when it comes to the fighting and Jihad plannings.
  10. Originally posted by NGONGE: Look at Somaliland and watch the various political parties there. Our brothers there are trying to sell to the world an image of a haven of democracy in the heart of Africa (this might yet to prove true). However, if you pay any attention to the makeup of the followers of each political party you will clearly see that they all fall neatly into obvious and expected tribal lines! True ,, Although a lot of effrots are made to transform those parties from clan politics to a national parties but if someone look them deeply you see the clan politics are not yet demolished. It will take generations to be fully free from the clan politics in the case of Somaliland only.

  13. You are mixing our internal issues and the external factors sxb. Burning a newspaper was not a support of the ICU, yes that is how you like to put it but it is not the reality, it was burned coz they accused Burco of supporting the ICU and that is why reer burco were angry and burned the newspaper to show the contrary. There were many other issue they had for the newspaper too. "But the people of Somaliland have created a thriving market economy and a reasonably functioning democracy. " This is the fact that you can never deny however you try to back your statements. I don't think the right leadership is in the making at least in the near future. Ilaahayse sidii khayr leh ha ka dhigo. "your reference to foreign tanks and troops is just taking advantage of Somalia's present day reality" Is not taking the advantage , that is what is happening now in Somalia. We were there when there was no foreign tanks and troops.

  16. That is between you and the journalist ,,, so far he made a valid points and he is a well informed indivudual. For your information, he is not arguing for Somaliland, he is simply saying the truth that you don't like the world to know. Dad badanna intaasaa ka xanaajisa oo xaaladoodu waa ha sheegsheeginee naga daaya Rayaale is an elected President sxb ,, he didnt come by tanks and foreign troops. He will go if the people want that and another one will come , yet it is the people's choice. The time for dictatorship has ended and no one can dictate where Somaliland should go. The choice has been made and the decision has been taken.
  17. ASMARA, Sept 16 (Reuters) - They're all around me. In cafes sipping sweetened tea, walking down the Eritrean capital's tree-lined boulevards, or in a local fair. Rebels are in Asmara, and they're everywhere you go. From Sudan to Somalia, insurgents have descended on tranquil Asmara, some looking to overthrow governments, some looking for change, but all seeing Eritrea as a home-from-home. As I sit in a café drinking a cappuccino before meeting two Sudanese ex-rebels for lunch, some former Somali dissident lawmakers pass by in a taxi driven by an aging Eritrean. Many taxi drivers in Eritrea are ex-rebel fighters themselves, and I wonder if the Somalis think that in a decade they will lead peaceful lives like him. You never know who you're going to meet in Eritrea. Riding through Asmara's thoroughfares on my Italian-made motorbike, I wave as I pass by Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, head of the Somali Islamists recently driven out of Mogadishu. He's taking a stroll in his dark blue suit. It's strangely fitting that Eritrea, which spent thirty, brutal years rising up against Ethiopia before gaining independence in 1991, should now host so many opposition groups. The Red Sea state seems to be saying it's rebel-friendly, willing to take on world powers like the United States for having policies which Eritrea says are anathema to the region. Eritrea's own rebels-turned-rulers have long, historic ties with many groups around Africa. Most Eritrean fighters travelled on Somali passports during their independence struggle, and many refugees took shelter in neighbouring Sudan. But some in the West, including Washington which is threatening to put Asmara on its terrorism list, accuse Eritrea of not just hosting but also arming groups and thus destabilising one of the world's most fragile regions. In more than a decade following independence, analysts say that Eritrea has tried to assert itself as a major regional power, getting involved in conflicts in such faraway places as eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. 'REBEL' ARCHITECTURE Back at lunch with the two Sudanese ex-rebels, we're sipping liquorice-tasting alcohol and eating chicken with rice. In the post-eating haze, we lounge around watching a movie called "The Truman Show" starring Jim Carey. It wasn't a particularly memorable day. But two months later I hear that one of my fellow diners has been appointed a senior rebel commander fighting with one of Sudan's Darfur factions. On another occasion, in a small office in Asmara, some rebels are talking about the kidnapping of a commander in Darfur. As we sip tea, conversation slowly turns to airplanes. First, how, if you're lucky, a rocket-propelled grenade shot from underneath will only pierce the plane's skin and not kill you. Then how aesthetics affect our view of a plane's worth. "The Hercules plane is much better than an Antonov," says one, referring to planes found throughout world hot spots. "In an Antonov, you can see all the insides, the straps hanging down, all that stuff. It just freaks me out, but the Hercules is a beautiful plane," he says. It's easy to forget that rebels have a past. These men and women were once teachers, lawyers, scientists, presidents, ambassadors, army officers and the like. But at some point, all chose to take up arms -- or just words -- for reasons as varied as their backgrounds. Speeding by the pastel-coloured Art Deco buildings that have made this highland capital famous, I'm reminded that it's not just insurgents who've fled to this city. Many architects came during the early part of last century to escape what they said was a stifling style in Europe, giving Africa one of its most architecturally unique cities. So Eritrea is now a city of rebels, built by rebel architects. I like the sound of that.
  18. The case for the seccession is not to be or not to be different ethnic groups. The same ethnic group can separate if they want and it depends on the people if they choose so. Djibouti is a somali ethnic and yet they are another country. Second, The guy is a journalist not a president or a government. He is not the one giving orders to a certain regions to seccede.
