I came a cross a verse that talked briefly about this issue... "And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah (SAW). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you surely would be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger SAW) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones, (This is) a Grace from Allah and His Favour. And Allah is All-knowing, All-Wise." (Al-Hujurat 49: 7- 8 ) Peace.

That's weird. I was talking about Xavi's similarities with Guardiola last nite. Barca seem to have replaced the legend with a player who is bound to do as good a job as he did. Barca will be even better when they get back their defensive midfielders who are all out injured. The game last nite was quite interesting but could have been even better if Milan came to win. They played only Sheva on top and brought in Seedorf late in the game. They contained Barca for 89 (!) mins until a certain wizard decided to end the dead-lock. But it was the best game i've seen this year in the CL. About zi Gunners...well, tell them it's premiership and they play like a big team but they seem to shudder when they hear that it's a CL game. Not forgetting that they got one of the easier groups.

Film-maker critic of Islam murdered Agencies Tuesday November 2, 2004 The Guardian A Dutch film-maker who received death threats after attacking imams as woman haters was stabbed and shot dead in Amsterdam today. Theo Van Gogh, a distant relative of the 19th century Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, was attacked near a park close to the centre of the Dutch capital. Police arrested a man at the scene after an exchange of gunfire in which the suspect wounded a police officer. The suspect was wounded in the leg. The arrested man, 26, had dual Dutch and Moroccan citizenship. A letter had been found at the crime scene, police and prosecutors said in a news conference live on national radio. Mr Van Gogh, who was 47, courted controversy with newspaper articles, books and films dealing with Islam after the September 11 attacks on the US. His most recent film, Submission, portrayed a Muslim woman forced into an arranged marriage who is abused by her husband and raped by her uncle. After it was shown on Dutch television earlier this year, Mr Van Gogh received death threats. Mr Van Gogh made the film with the Dutch politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali refugee given Dutch citizenship after fleeing an arranged marriage 12 years ago. Ms Hirsi Ali, who calls herself an ex-Muslim, has been under police protection since receiving death threats because of the film. Several Muslim organisations in the Netherlands - home to nearly 1m Muslims or 5.5% of the population - and mainstream Dutch newspapers attacked Submission. "He did receive death threats but he never took them quite seriously," a colleague at Mr Van Gogh's film production company said. "He was a controversial figure and a champion of free speech," his colleague said. Security was stepped up for politicians in Holland after the killing of Pim Fortuyn, the anti-immigration populist, ahead of the May 2002 election in which his party captured second place. Mr Van Gogh had been making a film about the killing of Mr Fortuyn. In several of his films and a book, Allah Knows Better, Mr Van Gogh attacks Islamic militancy and accuses imams - Muslim prayer leaders - of hating women. Immigration, integration and Islam are sensitive issues in the Netherlands where outspoken parliamentarians such as Geert Wilders, an opponent of Turkish EU membership, have received death threats because of their views. The killing, which was widely condemned by Muslim groups, could raise communal tension. According to a recent survey, many Dutch people are afraid of the rising number of Muslims in their country and feel threatened by Islamist militants. The Netherlands gave political backing to the US-led invasion of Iraq and has around 1,300 troops there. "It is really terrible. Of course we don't know yet the reasons, so I cannot give a formal reaction," the Dutch European affairs minister, Atzo Nicolai, said. "It reminds everybody of what happened to Pim Fortuyn." Originally posted by NaJuwa: And if you were honest Juve had to adapt there system to cope with the good 25 mins start that Roma made...Its a 3 horse race, squad wise and Milan are there pressing Juev at the moment, i think the gap will close towards the end of this year. The thing is, Roma has played the first 25 mins of almost every game with zeal, like they did against Real and Leverkusen. But they don't have the professionalism and quality (all over the field) to keep up that level throughout the game. It annoys me to see the attitude of a player like Cassano, he is extremely undisciplined and needs a strong coach to tame him! I do regard Capello as the best coach, I remember his days at Milan (the earlier period) and how he made Real Madrid a big team again by buying players like Roberto Carlos et al. and winning the league after years of domination by Barca. He had earlier said that he wouldn't coach Juve even in a 100 years, but he was promised to be given money to spend and he changed his mind. It still amazes me how he can make champions out of almost any team.

Roma was outplayed by Juve and were still playing like the backyard kids they are, very un-professionally. Is Shujui grieving?

A cousin of mine used to tell me this scary storiesabout women with hooves in Mombasa. He said that while you are running away from her, you will meet another woman on the street asking you what as wrong. When you tell her, she nods understandingly and then, she pulls up her dress slightly and says..."You mean hooves like this?" This went on for a while... PS: I know a lot of people from Tanga, the whole town seems to have migrated to Sweden. One thing that was striking was that every damn dude had a nickname, I am yet to meet one who doesn't.

The more you know Allah, the more you know Yourself... Khayr, Isn't it the other way? ..the more you know yourself, the more you know Allah SWT? For we can try to understand Allah SWT but can only reach a certain point, a point where the capability of our intellect ends.

lol raula, naikubuka. Irikuwa ina shekesha mutu akikasirika arafu aabiwe hifyo. Saraara, mi nikinjam, heee heh! Nina mbru-mband pia! By the way, I saw this funny story from coast... Mr Mwinyi Wanje (right) displaying the vicious dead cat. It attacked him in Miritini, Mombasa, leaving shocked residents speculating it may have come from the spirit world. The victim was returning home from night prayers to mark the month of Ramadhan. He said he found the wild cat in his path and without warning, it jumped on his manhood, tearing him with claws and teeth. “I fought it off frantically, but it was set on biting my private parts. Luckily, I managed to get hold of its head and tear it away, but it went for my hands, scratching and biting,†he said. Wanje severed the cat’s head with a knife.

I’ve also heard about a recognized French scientist becoming Muslim once researching into the Quran. Maurice Bucaille? I don't know whether he converted but he has written some works on the Qur'an and science.

In the livingroom usually. Sometimes the adhan comes on while am still in the kitchen piling the sambuusas on a plate; WHENEVER THIS HAPPENS, I take a sip of water and toss a timir in the mouth while leaning on the fridge!

I once dreamt the Quake in Suratul Zilzalah. There were fires, buildings collapsing, people running around wondering what was wrong with the earth. I realised that the time had reached and felt very bad that I hadn't worked hard enough to earn my place in Jannah. Horrifying dream!

Freedom as presented today is secular; it does not explain what happens after death, after we decompose, and after we are reassembled back to our forms for an eternal life of happiness and freedom, or an eternal life of suffering and confinement. Very true! Alas, we have forgotten the quest for the ultimate freedom, an elevation of the self from wrongdoings to attainment of the ultimate reward, awareness and conscience of the Maker. Allah SWT says that everything that is bad comes from within ourselves; without seeking to attain inward perfection (freedom within, that gives us guidance), how then can we build a society that is just? Peace and Ramadan Kariim.
